Sponsored in part by Legends Bank.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Taking a Look at Cave Johnson<\/strong><br \/>\nMay 11th \u2013 July 31st<\/p>\n<p>Take a closer look at the life of Clarksvillian Cave Johnson. Johnson was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1828, and later served as president of the Bank of Tennessee from 1854 to 1860. He was also a close friend and advisor to James K. This year&#8217;s theme is An Evening in Paris! There is a silent auction at 5:00pm, with dinner at 7:00pm followed by the live auction at 8:30pm.<\/p>\n<p>Music and dancing concludes the evening. Bid during the live auction for your chance to win a trip to Paris. Admission is free.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Children\u2019s Summer Camp: Explorers\u2019 Camp<\/strong><br \/>\nJuly 12th \u2013 15th. Registration opens June 1st.<\/p>\n<p>[320right]Explorers\u2019 Camp is a half-day summer camp filled with exciting and educational activities for children ages 7-10. Each day our education staff will provide several exciting activities on a variety of themes combined with tours of the museum. All camp activities are a fun blend of science, engineering, art and history, allowing kids to explore, learn, create, and play!<\/p>\n<p>Children must be registered in advance to attend Explorers\u2019 Camp. Reserve your child\u2019s spot now before they\u2019re all gone! Registration opens June 1st. You don\u2019t have to be a child to enjoy this! Drop in at your leisure.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Here are just a few things that will show up sometime this month:<\/strong> a boomerang, a rock signed by Marty Stuart, a cannon ball, a wind-up hippopotamus, a giant red lizard, the Georgia Big Chicken, Ms. Sue\u2019s baby bracelet, and every time, a book or two from Ms. Sue\u2019s collection of 1,500 picture books! These are all objects you can actually touch!<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cTry This\u201d<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Children\u2019s Art Room is Open Daily!<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTry This\u201d, a new art experience, will feature such things as making collages, sculpting paper, illustrating a song or poem, comparing how different artists draw trees, and many more. There will be a new \u201cTry This\u201d each week, Tuesday \u2013 Sunday. This experience can be enjoyed by all ages.<\/p>\n<p>All activities are free with your museum membership.
