The show displayed a variety of quilts from traditional to one of a kind art quilts by local artists. The event was free and open to the public.<\/p>\n<p>The quilts showed just how talented artists are in the area. They were simply beautiful. The event had juried exhibitions and non-juried exhibitions as well.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_342984\" style=\"width: 490px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/2016-Quilts-of-the-Cumberland-1.jpg\"  class=\"thickbox no_icon\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-342984\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-342984\" title=\"Vicky McCarty won Best of Show at the 2016 Quilts of the Cumberland Show with her entry &quot;Jack\u2019s Chain &quot;.\" src=\"http:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/2016-Quilts-of-the-Cumberland-1-480x320.jpg\" alt=\"Vicky McCarty won Best of Show at the 2016 Quilts of the Cumberland Show with her entry &quot;Jack\u2019s Chain &quot;.\" width=\"480\" height=\"320\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-342984\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Vicky McCarty won Best of Show at the 2016 Quilts of the Cumberland Show with her entry &#8220;Jack\u2019s Chain &#8220;.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><!--more-->The categories were Traditional Bed Quilt, Non Traditional Bed Quilt and Art\/Wall Quilt.<\/p>\n<p>This year&#8217;s Best of Show winner was &#8220;Jack\u2019s Chain&#8221; by Vicky McCarty.<\/p>\n<p>A new award, Viewer&#8217;s Choice, went to &#8220;Oopsie Daisy&#8221; by Helen Morris. Morris&#8217; quilt &#8220;Oopsie Daisy&#8221; also won 1st place for Traditional Bed Quilt.<\/p>\n<p>For Non-Tradional Bed Quilt, the award went to &#8220;Cosmic Stars&#8221; by Kay Jay. Morris won 1st place for &#8220;A Graceful Stitch&#8221; in the Art\/Wall Quilt category.<\/p>\n<p>Dana Fucella won 3rd place in Non-Traditional Bed Quilt with her entry &#8220;Heart Bargello&#8221; quilted by Amish Ladies in KY. I am super excited about it,&#8221; said Fucella. &#8220;My mother in law had the book and I saw here quilt and I just loved it. I knew at that point I wanted to make one for my daughter. Her name is Jessica.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I like that Rivers and Spires puts on the Quilts of the Cumberland show. It&#8217;s really a good way to showcase all of the talented people we actually have in the area,&#8221; stated Fucella.<\/p>\n<p>[320left]Quilts of the Cumberland is always striving to increase their number of quilts each year to make a better, bigger show. They welcome the community to enter or come by for a visit.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We want to share the love of quilting,&#8221; stated Wanda Morrison. &#8220;Most quilters like to share what they do and tell about their techniques.
