\"AustinClarksville, TN<\/strong> – At 7:00pm on Friday, April 8th, Latin Grammy winners Lucky Diaz and The Family Jam Band will perform in Austin Peay State University\u2019s Trahern Theatre as this spring\u2019s APSU Roy Acuff Chair of Excellence recipients.<\/p>\n

Latin Grammy Award winners Lucky Diaz and The Family Jam Band to perform at Austin Peay State University\u2019s Trahern Theatre Friday, April 8th.<\/p><\/div>\n

Established in 1985 by the legendary \u201cKing of Country Music\u201d Roy Acuff, the chair is an endowed professorship designed to bring regionally and nationally acclaimed artists together with students, faculty and community members in a creative environment.<\/p>\n

The chair, administered through the APSU Center of Excellence in the Creative Arts, rotates each year between different creative arts department at APSU, with the Department of Theatre and Dance hosting it this year.<\/p>\n

Band members Diaz and Alisha Gaddis, a married couple, create indie music sounds that are rooted in their whimsical and child-friendly imaginations. The songs on their five award-winning recordings offer an incredible range aimed at exploring the wonder of childhood.<\/p>\n

From their debut album \u201cLuckiest Adventure\u201d <\/i>to their consecutive #1 songs and albums (\u201cOh Lucky Day,\u201d \u201cA Potluck\u201d) and Latin Grammy award-winning album \u201c\u00a1FANTASTICO!,\u201d they have enjoyed strong reviews and heavy radio rotation worldwide. \u201c\u00a1FANTASTICO!\u201d <\/i>brought the duo a new audience of families eager to immerse their children in dual languages right from the start.<\/p>\n

As Acuff Chairs at APSU, Diaz and Gaddis will present a series of workshops for Theatre and Dance students during their residency. Gaddis has a successful line of monologue books, \u201cMonologues That Are Actually Funny,\u201d with the sixth book in the series being released soon.<\/p>\n
