See original pre-Civil War flags, reproductions from the Colonial era, and more!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Celebrating Black History Month<\/strong><br \/>\nFebruary 2nd &#8211; February 28th<\/p>\n<p>Items from our collection showcase Black History Month. Featured artifacts on display include slave inventory lists, a United States Colored Troops (USCT) 16th regiment poster, a slave shackle with ball and chain, a class photo of Cobb Elementary c. 1915, and some other interesting photographs and documents that relate to the history of African Americans in the Montgomery County region.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mergings: A Visual Exploration: The Art of Jennifer Crescuillo<\/strong><br \/>\nFebruary 2nd &#8211; 28th<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_334081\" style=\"width: 490px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Jennifer-Crescuillo_5.jpg\"  rel=\"attachment wp-att-334081\" class=\"thickbox no_icon\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-334081\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-334081\" title=\"The Art of Jennifer Crescuillo\" src=\"http:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Jennifer-Crescuillo_5-480x396.jpg\" alt=\"The Art of Jennifer Crescuillo\" width=\"480\" height=\"396\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-334081\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Art of Jennifer Crescuillo<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Jennifer Crescuillo is an internationally exhibited artist currently living and working in Silver Point, Tennessee with her family. Jennifer earned her Masters of Fine Art in glass at Southern Illinois University. This series of art features fused, cold worked, and sand carved glass monuments to obsolete technology.<\/p>\n<h3>Activities<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Please Note: Art Activities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>During the renovation of the Kimbrough Gallery and Memory Lane, the art activities will be available in the Coca Cola Caf\u00e9, except during birthday party rentals. All activities are free with your museum membership or paid admission. The original portion of the building was constructed in 1898 as a U.S. Post Office and Customs House for the flourishing tobacco trade. Incorporating a number of architectural styles, the original structure is one of the most photographed buildings in the region.<\/p>\n<p>With over 35,000 square feet of the region\u2019s best hands-on activities and special events\u2026people of all ages agree \u2013 the Customs House Museum is well worth the stop!<\/p>\n<p>The Explorer\u2019s Gallery is packed with fun, learning and fantasy in Aunt Alice\u2019s Attic, McGregor\u2019s Market and kitchen, and of course \u2013 the Bubble Cave! Finally, get \u201call aboard\u201d to see our fantastic model trains. Our volunteer engineers \u201cride the rails\u201d every Sunday afternoon from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.<\/p>\n<p>Regular museum hours are 10:00am to 5:00pm Tuesday through Saturday, and 1:00pm to 5:00pm on Sundays. Adult admission is $7.00, Senior Citizens and College ID $5.00, Ages 6 to 18 $3.00, and under six years and Museum members are free.<\/p>\n<p>The Customs House Museum is located at 200 South Second Street.
