\"Dunbar<\/a>Clarksville, TN<\/strong> – Dunbar Cave State Natural Area<\/a> has been a State Park since 1973. The cave and its surrounding 110 acres have considerable scenic, natural and historical significance. The entrance offered shelter to prehistoric Native Americans as far back as 10,000 years.<\/p>\n

Dunbar Cave State Natural Area will present many nature programs during the year. There are programs for children and adults.<\/p>\n

Some of the upcoming events include: Woodland Wildlife, Man’s Use of Dunbar Cave, Nature Hike at Port Royal, Woodland Hike, Port Royal Hike, and Night Hike.<\/p>\n

Woodland Wildlife<\/strong><\/p>\n

Enjoy a walk through the woods as we look for the animals of winter. Now that the leaves are off the trees, they are much easier to see.<\/p>\n

Saturday, January 16th<\/h3>\n

Man’s Use of Dunbar Cave<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nAges:<\/strong> 10 \u2013 adult<\/p>\n

Learn about how Dunbar Cave and the surrounding area was used through years past in this indoor presentation.<\/p>\n

Tuesday, January 19th<\/h3>\n

Nature Hike at Port Royal<\/strong><\/p>\n

Time:<\/strong> 9:30am \u2013 10:30am

Walk through the winter woods on this \u00bd mile hike. Meet at River Bottom Trail parking lot. Dress warmly and prepare for a muddy trail.<\/p>\n

Join us for a hike on the Port Royal Historic Area\u2019s River Bottom Trail. Meet at River Bottom Trail parking lot.<\/p>\n

Thursday, January 21st<\/h3>\n

Night Hike<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is a great time of year to walk in the woods at night \u2013 no heat, no humidity, no bugs. Dress warmly and we will walk the Short Loop Trail as the sun sets and darkness rises\u2013 we might hear owls and other creatures as we go.<\/p>\n

Dunbar Cave State Park Programs Information<\/h3>\n

Programs are free unless noted otherwise. All programs require reservations by the Deadline Listed. Programs with no reservations by the deadline will be canceled.<\/p>\n

All programs begin at the Visitor Center unless another site is listed.<\/p>\n

Children must be accompanied by an adult (one adult for each three children).<\/p>\n

Age limits are definite \u2013 please do not sign up a child who is younger or older than the age limits given.<\/p>\n

Dunbar Cave State Park is located at 401 Old Dunbar Cave Road, Clarksville Tennessee.<\/p>\n

Port Royal State Historic Park is located at 3300 Old Clarksville Springfield Road, Adams, Tennessee.<\/p>\n
