We saw savings immediately from making that switch. We are also recycling cardboard, paper and plastics and we’ve found ways to reduce the amount of water being used in our agricultural practices. We have cardboard in all Montgomery County locations and are incorporating the other conservation initiatives into the other stores.”

Clarksville Mayor McMillan asked how receptive the employees were to the changes. Keith Earhart, retail store manager said, “it’s really just become habit now at work.” McMillan said she hopes employees are taking some of those practices home. Briggs agreed that is happening as well. “I bring my recycling from home into work and allow the other employees to do the same. This has been a good process for us to identify what we could do to make a difference and save money.”

Montgomery Farmers’ Co-Op is a one stop for all agricultural and farming supply needs.
