\"Dunbar<\/a>Clarksville, TN<\/strong> – Dunbar Cave State Natural Area<\/a> has been a State Park since 1973. The cave and its surrounding 110 acres have considerable scenic, natural and historical significance. The entrance offered shelter to prehistoric Native Americans as far back as 10,000 years.<\/p>\n

Dunbar Cave State Natural Area will present many nature programs during the year. There are programs for children and adults.<\/p>\n

Some of the upcoming events include: Evening Hike, Wildflower Walk, Kid’s Nature Hike, Beginning Birding, Little Ones Night Hike and Port Royal Hike.<\/p>\n

Friday, October 9th<\/h3>\n

Evening Hike<\/strong><\/p>\n

Time:<\/strong> 5:30pm \u2013 6:30pm

We will walk the one mile Short Loop Trail as the park animals become more active.<\/p>\n

Saturday, October 10th<\/h3>\n

Wildflower Walk<\/strong><\/p>\n

Time:<\/strong> 5:30pm \u2013 6:30pm
\nAges:<\/strong> 6 \u2013 adult<\/p>\n

Learn to identify the late summer wildflowers of Dunbar Cave on this easy walk.<\/p>\n

Monday, October 12th<\/h3>\n

Kid’s Nature Hike<\/strong><\/p>\n

Join is for a hike through the woods to learn about the plants and animals of the Natural Area.<\/p>\n

Tuesday, October 13th<\/h3>\n

Beginning Birding<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bring your binoculars and learn how we can identify birds by sight and sound.<\/p>\n

Wednesday, October 14th<\/h3>\n

\nAges:<\/strong> 4 \u2013 7 (and parents)<\/p>\n

In case your young ones can\u2019t keep up with our longer hikes, we offer this easy one just for them \u2013 we might hear owls, frogs and other creatures as we go.<\/p>\n

Thursday, October 15th<\/h3>\n

Port Royal Hike<\/strong><\/p>\n

Learn about Port Royal\u2019s plants and animals on this easy \u00bd mile hike. Meet at the River Bottom Trail parking lot.<\/p>\n

Dunbar Cave State Park Programs Information<\/h3>\n

Programs are free unless noted otherwise. All programs require reservations by the Deadline Listed. Programs with no reservations by the deadline will be canceled.<\/p>\n

All programs begin at the Visitor Center unless another site is listed.<\/p>\n

Children must be accompanied by an adult (one adult for each three children).<\/p>\n

Age limits are definite \u2013 please do not sign up a child who is younger or older than the age limits given.<\/p>\n

Dunbar Cave State Park is located at 401 Old Dunbar Cave Road, Clarksville Tennessee.<\/p>\n

Port Royal State Historic Park is located at 3300 Old Clarksville Springfield Road, Adams, Tennessee.<\/p>\n
