The concert is free and open to the public.<\/p>\n<p>Yates\u2019 program will include selections from his critically-acclaimed transcriptions of music by Bach, Vivaldi and Alb\u00e9niz; Venezuelan music by Antonio Lauro; and a recent work based on Indian ragas written by Dutch composer Annette Kruisbrink.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_204702\" style=\"width: 490px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/APSU-GuitarFest-StanleyYates.jpg\"  class=\"thickbox no_icon\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-204702\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-204702\" title=\"APSU Professor of Music Stanley Yates playing at GuitarFest.\" src=\"http:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/APSU-GuitarFest-StanleyYates-480x320.jpg\" alt=\"APSU Professor of Music Stanley Yates playing at GuitarFest.\" width=\"480\" height=\"320\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-204702\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">APSU Professor of Music Stanley Yates playing at GuitarFest.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><!--more-->Yates is known for his best-selling music editions and internationally-acclaimed Bach recording, along with his widely published scholarly articles. These articles have been published in 10 languages.<\/p>\n<p>He has also established an international performing career, performing throughout the United States and Europe, as well as in Australia, Asia and South America.<\/p>\n<p>He is featured in the standard reference work, \u201cThe Classical Guitar: Its Evolution, Players and Personalities Since 1800\u201d and \u201cInstrumental Influences: Reflections on the Classical Guitar from the Instrument\u2019s Most Influential Performers and Pedagogues,\u201d and he has been described by the Journal of the Guitar Foundation of America as \u201cone of the leading pedagogues of our era.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>During his time at APSU, Yates has received the Hawkins Award for Scholarly and Creative Achievement, a Distinguished Artist Award from Bergen College in New Jersey and an APSU Presidential nomination for the Robert Cherry Outstanding Teaching Award.
