The Big Payback, hosted by The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, is a community-wide online giving day that\u2019s a special occasion to celebrate Middle Tennessee\u2019s spirit of generosity and support the work of nonprofits.<\/p>\n<p>[320right]This 24-hour online event will help organizations, like the Customs House Museum, raise much-needed unrestricted dollars and bring awareness to pressing needs in our communities.<br \/>\nOn May 5th, our goal is to raise $5k by 5:00pm for improvements to our children\u2019s galleries. Your donation of $10.00 or more will be a big help!<\/p>\n<p>Visit our website or Facebook to find out how you can donate and contribute to your community!<\/p>\n<p><strong>May First Thursday Art Walk<\/strong><br \/>\nMay 7th, 5:00pm \u2013 8:00pm<\/p>\n<p>Join us for the First Thursday Art Walk on May 7th. The museum will be open with free admission from 5:00pm \u2013 8:00pm. The Clarksville Jazz Project Trio will give a live performance in the galleries from 5:30pm \u2013 6:30pm.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Story &amp; Craft Time with Ms. Sue<\/strong><br \/>\nMay 7th, 14th, &amp; 28th, 10:30am \u2013 11:15am<\/p>\n<p>Ms. Sue has more than 500 picture books in her personal library. Join us this month as she shares some of her favorites. All ages welcome.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Family Fun Day: \u201cGet Your Kicks on Route 66\u201d<\/strong><br \/>\nMay 9th, 10:00am \u2013 4:00pm<\/p>\n<p>You are invited to join us as we take the ultimate \u201croad trip\u201d without leaving Clarksville. There will be sites to see, things to do, and things to make. And while you\u2019re here, visit the exhibit \u201cBecoming Clarksville\u201d to find out what Governor Austin Peay did that made travel by car a little easier.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Let\u2019s Find: Things to Count<\/strong><br \/>\nMay 26th &amp; 27th, 10:30am \u2013 11:30am<\/p>\n<p>For Children 2 \u2013 5 years old &amp; their adults<\/p>\n<p>Do you know how many Randys there are on the pit crew standing by Jeff Purvis\u2019s racecar in the sports gallery? Join us for May\u2019s Let\u2019s Find as we look for unusual things to count in the museum. We\u2019ll also make a craft and listen to Ms. Sue read some of her special counting books. Siblings are always welcome!<\/p>\n<p><strong>May in the Children\u2019s Room: Backyard Birds<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Our apologies: the Children\u2019s Room will be closed May 12th &#8211; 17th due to a special event.<\/p>\n<p>[320left]Chickadees, cardinals, crows, and cuckoos are just a few of the birds that might show up in your yard this summer. Visit the Children\u2019s Room to discover some other birds that just might come by, too!<\/p>\n<p>There will be books to read, puzzles to complete, puppets to pretend with, crafts to make, art to enjoy, objects to examine, and things to try every day.<br \/>\nThe Children\u2019s Room provides exhibit-related, hands-on learning experiences for families. Activities vary weekly, so drop in often!<\/p>\n<p>All activities are free with your museum membership or paid admission.
