Support the Customs House Museum and shop local!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Miranda Herrick Book Signing<\/strong><br \/>\nThursday, December 11th, 5:30pm<\/p>\n<p>Join artist Miranda Herrick as she signs copies of her new book Works and Days: A Daily Drawing Series by Miranda Herrick. The book is available for purchase at Seasons: The Museum Store, which will remain open for the event. Light refreshments will be served.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Family Fun Day: National Day of the Horse<\/strong><br \/>\nSaturday, December 13th, 10:00am\u20134:00pm<\/p>\n<p>[320left]Celebrate the National Day of the Horse during our monthly Free Admission Saturday! Artist Eric Hansen and a live horse from his exhibit Eric L Hansen: Blood Rescue will be in the courtyard from 10:30pm\u201312:00pm.<\/p>\n<p>Activities in the Children\u2019s Room will pay tribute to this remarkable animal that has carried our mail, plowed our fields, transported our ancestors, carried our goods, and even died on the battlefield while serving our country.<\/p>\n<p><strong>December in the Children\u2019s Room: Let it Snow!<\/strong><br \/>\nOpen 10:00am\u20135:00pm, Tuesday \u2013 Saturday<\/p>\n<p>The Children\u2019s Room provides exhibit-related, hands-on learning experiences for families. There are books to read, puzzles to complete, puppets to pretend with, crafts to make, art to enjoy, objects to examine, and things to try. Activities vary weekly.<\/p>\n<p>Here are some places to find \u201csnow\u201d in the museum &#8211; the ice on Mt. Everest in the Hand Gallery, the snow in the Boehm porcelain birds and flowers collection, and of course lots of the pretty white stuff in the model train exhibit.<\/p>\n<p>The day after Christmas, Ms. Sue will be reading winter stories 10:00am\u201310:30am and 2:00pm\u20132:30pm. The model trains will run 10:30am\u201312:30pm and 2:30pm\u20133:30 pm.<\/p>\n<p>All activities are free with your museum membership or paid admission. Bundle up and come for a visit! Siblings are always welcome!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Voices of the Bulge: WWII Stories from Those Who Were There<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This December marks the 70th Anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge, the major German offensive on the western front.
