\"AustinClarksville, TN<\/strong> – The venue is grand, but the setting will be intimate as Austin Peay State University professor of music David Steinquest presents his fifth annual Christmas concert.<\/p>\n

Titled \u201cJingle Bells,\u201d Steinquest\u2019s concert will take over The George and Sharon Mabry Concert Hall at 7:30pm on December 5th, 2014, transforming the venue into a \u201chomey\u201d setting.<\/p>\n

Christmas Concert at Austin Peay State University.<\/p><\/div>\n

\u201cWe set the stage up like a living room, complete with a couch, chair, lamps and tables with drinks and food and a Christmas tree,\u201d Steinquest said. \u201cIt makes the audience feel like they just walked in on a Christmas party \u2026 it will be very informal and very fun.\u201d<\/p>\n

A group of talented performers will take the stage, including David Alford, known for his role as Bucky Dawes on the hit ABC show \u201cNashville,\u201d and Allison Campbell, vocals; Elvis Costello band member Jeff Taylor, piano; Paul Binkley of the legendary group Alabama, guitar; Tony Nagy, bass; Matt DeVore, drums; Steinquest, percussion; Erin Binkley; and the APSU Percussion Ensemble.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a really great (group) we have, and there\u2019s a really nice sync in terms of the band\u2019s personalities because we\u2019ve all known each other for a long time,\u201d Steinquest said. \u201cAnd it\u2019s also really cool for our students (with the APSU Percussion Ensemble), because they get a chance to interact with professionals and that\u2019s always a great opportunity for them.\u201d<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s show includes classic Christmas songs like \u201cJingle Bells,\u201d \u201cO Come, O Come, Emmanuel,\u201d \u201cAngels We Have Heard On High,\u201d \u201cHark The Herald Angels Sing,\u201d \u201cTennessee Christmas\u201d and \u201cThe Twelve Days of Christmas.\u201d These holiday standards will be performed in the style of famous artists including Barbra Streisand, Amy Grant, Over the Rhine, Sara Groves, Dave Barnes, Rosie Thomas, Family Force 5 and Harry Connick, Jr.<\/p>\n

Admission is either two cans of food, which will be donated to Loaves and Fishes, or $3.00. This concert sold out last year, so attendees are encouraged to get tickets ahead of time by contacting the APSU music office at 931.221.7818.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
