The cave and its surrounding 110 acres have considerable scenic, natural and historical significance. The entrance offered shelter to prehistoric Native Americans as far back as 10,000 years.<\/p>\n<p>Dunbar Cave State Natural Area will present many nature programs this summer. Meet at the upper parking lot (beside the Visitor Center).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reservations By:<\/strong> 4:30pm November 4th.<br \/>\n<strong>Program Leader:<\/strong> Adam Neblett, Ranger<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Night Walk<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Time:<\/strong> 5:00pm\u20136:30pm<br \/>\n<strong>Ages:<\/strong> All ages<\/p>\n<p>The moon is full tonight, join us for a walk around the area \u2013 maybe we\u2019ll see or hear owls, raccoons and other night creatures.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reservations By:<\/strong> 4:30pm November 4th.<br \/>\n<strong>Program Leader:<\/strong> Amy Wallace, Interpretive Specialist<\/p>\n<h3>Friday, November 7th<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Plants and Animals of Port Royal<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Time:<\/strong> 9:00am\u201310:30am<br \/>\n<strong>Ages:<\/strong> 10 &#8211; adult<\/p>\n<p>Walk the River Bottom Trail (1\/2 mile) and learn the plants and animals of the area. Trail may be muddy, so come prepared. Meet at the River Bottom Trail parking lot at Port Royal State Historic Area.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reservations By:<\/strong> 4:30pm November 10th.<br \/>\n<strong>Program Leader:<\/strong> Adam Neblett, Park Ranger<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>DCSNA and our KARST Topography<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Time:<\/strong> 6:00pm<br \/>\n<strong>Ages:<\/strong> 12-adult<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Phil Kemmerly, APSU Professor of Geology will present a program to discuss the important features of our newly acquired sink holes. Meet inside visitor center.<\/p>\n<p>No reservations required.<br \/>\nProgram presented by the Friends of Dunbar Cave<\/p>\n<h3>Dunbar Cave State Park Programs Information<\/h3>\n<p>Programs are free unless noted otherwise. All programs require reservations by the Deadline Listed.
