4th Annual Laying Low<\/strong>
\nSaturday, November 1st, 5:30pm<\/p>\n

The Customs House Museum presents the Fourth Annual Laying Low! This seasonal fundraiser to benefit the museum is a laid-back evening featuring beer, games, and live music in a festival atmosphere. This year\u2019s event takes place in F&M Bank\u2019s courtyard, overlooking the Cumberland River. Festivities will begin at 5:30pm.<\/p>\n

[320left]Live music will be provided by local musicians and headlined by John & Jacob. John & Jacob have recently toured Europe with Kacey Musgraves, placed their song \u201cBe My Girl\u201d on the hit ABC TV show, \u201cNashville,\u201d and appeared at The Hangout Festival, Bonnaroo and the Firefly Festival. Rolling Stone describes them as a \u201cradio-friendly\u201d, \u201crockin\u2019 outfit\u201d. Find out more on their website at http:\/\/johnandjacob.com\/<\/a><\/p>\n

Family Fun Day: A Big Thank You to the Train Crew<\/strong>
\nNovember 2nd, 1:00pm \u2013 4:00pm.<\/p>\n

Did you know our model trains exhibit has been funded, maintained, and run solely by volunteers for the past 28 years? So, drop by the Children\u2019s Room between 1:00pm \u2013 4:00pm to meet some of the crew and have fun with our train activities.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s Find: Horses (For Children 2 \u2013 5 years old & their adults)<\/strong>
\nNovember 5th & 6th, 10:30am \u2013 11:30am.<\/p>\n

It certainly won\u2019t be too hard to find horses this month at the museum! We\u2019ll read a story and then look for the animals that were our transportation before we had cars. Afterwards, we\u2019ll make a craft. Siblings are always welcome!<\/p>\n

Art & Lunch: Gallery Talk with Eric Hansen<\/strong>
\nThursday, November 20th at 12:00pm.<\/p>\n

Join artist Eric Hansen as he discusses his work in the exhibit Eric L. Hansen: Blood Rescue. Free admission to program. Bagged lunches welcome.<\/p>\n

November in the Children\u2019s Room: Horses<\/strong>
\nOpen 10:00am \u2013 5:00pm, Tuesday \u2013 Saturday<\/p>\n

\u201cA horse, a horse! My kingdom for a horse!\u201d King Richard in \u201cRichard the Third\u201d, by William Shakespeare; Mr. Ed, Trigger; horse & buggy; Kentucky Derby; My Little Pony; saddles; horseshoes \u2013 you get the picture!<\/p>\n

Veteran\u2019s Day: Tuesday, November 11th<\/strong><\/p>\n

The museum will be open on Veterans\u2019 Day. All veterans and active duty military will be admitted free of charge!<\/p>\n

The Explorer\u2019s Gallery is packed with fun, learning and fantasy in Aunt Alice\u2019s Attic, McGregor\u2019s Market and kitchen, and of course \u2013 the Bubble Cave! Finally, get \u201call aboard\u201d to see our fantastic model trains. Our volunteer engineers \u201cride the rails\u201d every Sunday afternoon from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.<\/p>\n

Regular museum hours are 10:00am to 5:00pm Tuesday through Saturday, and 1:00pm to 5:00pm on Sundays. Adult admission is $7.00, Senior Citizens and College ID $5.00, Ages 6 to 18 $3.00, and under six years and Museum members are free.<\/p>\n
