\"Clarksville<\/a>C<\/strong>larksville, TN<\/strong> \u2013 The 3rd Annual Fright on Franklin was held on Saturday October 29th. Several Thousand families packed Historic Downtown Clarksville for Fright on Franklin which provides safe trick-or-treating opportunities for Clarksville residents.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt’s wonderful, this is one of the best things that we do in the city of Clarksville all year round,\u201d said Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan. \u201cThere are thousands of children out here having fun, getting candy, in a wonderful atmosphere where it is safe; and I think the parents are liking it too!\u201d<\/p>\n

The rapidly growing event has become a don\u2019t miss Halloween activity. Area businesses line the streets in Downtown Clarksville distributing Candy and information to costumed children and their parents. There were 70 trick-or-treat booths, costume contests, a haunted house, a hayride and food vendors with Halloween themed menus!<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is phenomenal!\u201d said Jenna Tyler, the Special Events Supervisor for the City of Clarksville. \u201cI love that the businesses just really go all out for it, and they’re very supportive of it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"Fright<\/a>

Fright on Franklin Street brings many families to the Historic Downtown Area<\/p><\/div>\n

She continued, \u201cThis year we’ve added the haunted house, with three vendors in there. It’s very fun. We also have food vendors with Halloween themed menus. And we did the storefront decorating contest that served as a lead up into the festival. And you can see the parks and rec building is decorated with the skeletons and all that stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n

A costume contest was held with the best entries in the following Categories receiving prizes; Newborn to 2-years old, 3-6 years old, 7-9 years old, 10-12 years old, group costumes, and original costumes.<\/p>\n

Mark Tummons, the director of the Clarksville Department of Parks and Recreation was one of the judges, \u201cIt was so hard to choose the winners as there were a lot of great costumes out here today!\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued, \u201cFright on Franklin Street is fantastic this year with absolutely perfect weather. It’s great seeing all of the kids, and even some of the adults out here in costume. We’ve had a great time today!\u201d<\/p>\n

The event is also fun for the parents, many of whom dress up along with their children<\/p><\/div>\n

Tummons issued his personal thanks to all of the sponsors, \u201cWe couldn’t do this event without them!\u201d<\/p>\n

The Event was put on by the Altra Federal Credit Union, as well as media sponsor: Clarksville Family Magazine, and the Leaf Chronicle.<\/p>\n
