Her work is a reminder of our collective history, and observing it is an act of remembering and re-interpreting.<\/p>\n<p>[320center]<\/p>\n<h3>Activities<\/h3>\n<p><strong>This Month in the Children\u2019s Room: The Wonders of Light<\/strong><br \/>\nTuesday \u2013 Friday: 10:00am\u20135:00pm, Saturday: 10:00am\u201312:00pm<\/p>\n<p>October\u2019s activities feature shadows, optical illusions, reflections, prisms, mirrors, books, puzzles, crafts, toys, games, poems, and the eye, as well as the sun, moon, and stars. Activities vary weekly. The Children\u2019s Room is located in the Kimbrough Gallery. These activities are included in your regular admission.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Family Day: Bubble Blast in the Courtyard<\/strong><br \/>\nSaturday, October 4th, 10:00am\u20133:00pm<\/p>\n<p>Come test our bubble-makers or bring one of your own. Remember, just about anything you can blow through is a potential bubble-maker. The activities in the courtyard are free to all. Regular admission will be charged for touring the museum. In case of inclement weather, the event will be held October 25th, from 10:00am\u20133:00pm<\/p>\n<p><strong>Let\u2019s Find: Bugs<\/strong><br \/>\nOctober 8th &amp; 9th, 10:30am\u201311:30am<\/p>\n<p>Children 2 \u2013 5 years old and their adults are invited to help Ms. Sue look for bugs in the museum. We will also read a story and make a craft. This activity is free with your paid admission or museum membership. Siblings are always welcome.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fall Break Model Trains<\/strong><br \/>\nOur model trains will be making special runs for Fall Break!<br \/>\nOctober 14th &amp; 16th, 1:00pm\u20133:00pm and October 15th &amp; 17th, 10:00am\u201312:00pm<\/p>\n<p><strong>Art &amp; Lunch Film: Man Ray: Prophet of Avant-Garde<\/strong><br \/>\nOctober 23rd, 12:00pm<\/p>\n<p>Bring your lunch and enjoy a film on artist Man Ray. In conjunction with the exhibit Even When: Recent Works by Susan Bryant and Billy Renkl. Free admission to film. Bagged lunches welcome.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pumpkin Palooza<\/strong><br \/>\nOctober 28th, 6:00pm\u20138:00pm<\/p>\n<p>The Customs House Museum will be holding a carved and painted pumpkin contest in both youth (ages 10-17) and adult (ages 18 and up) categories. Entry fee is $3.00 for youth and $5.00 for adults. Entries will be accepted October 24th and 25th. A Pumpkin Palooza event will be held on Oct. 28th, where ribbons and awards will be announced.<\/p>\n<p>Palooza admission is free to contestants or anyone in costume!
