The cave and its surrounding 110 acres have considerable scenic, natural and historical significance. The entrance offered shelter to prehistoric Native Americans as far back as 10,000 years.<\/p>\n<p>Dunbar Cave State Natural Area will present many nature programs this summer. Let us show you how to use things found on the park as gym equipment and train to use the human body how nature intended. Please sign up as only 16 people will be admitted per class.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reservations By:<\/strong> 4:30pm August 1st.<br \/>\n<strong>Program Leader:<\/strong> Shawn Settle, Seasonal Interpretive Ranger<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Beginning Birding<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Time:<\/strong> 6:30pm\u20137:30pm<br \/>\n<strong>Ages:<\/strong> 6 &#8211; adult<\/p>\n<p>Learn the basics of this fun hobby with a short lesson on when, where and what to look for, the basic birds of the area, and a walk around the grounds to look for birds. Bring binoculars if you have them, but they are not required.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reservations By:<\/strong> 4:30pm August 1st.<br \/>\n<strong>Program Leader: <\/strong> Amy Wallace, Interpretive Specialist<\/p>\n<h3>Tuesday, August 5th<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Trail of Tears Walk<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Time:<\/strong> 9:00am\u201310:00am<br \/>\n<strong>Ages:<\/strong> 8- adult<\/p>\n<p>Join us at Port Royal Historic Area to learn about the Trail of Tears. Meet at the River Bottom Trail parking lot.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reservations By:<\/strong> 4:30pm August 3rd.<br \/>\n<strong>Program Leader:<\/strong> Adam Neblett, Ranger<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>[320right]<strong>Insects<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Time:<\/strong> 9:00am\u201311:00am<br \/>\n<strong>Ages:<\/strong> 5 \u2013 12<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ll learn about insects with books and a DVD, then get outside to catch and release them!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reservations By:<\/strong> 4:30pm August 3rd.<br \/>\n<strong>Program Leader:<\/strong> Amy Wallace, Interpretive Specialist<\/p>\n<h3>Thursday, August 7th<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Summer Wildflowers<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Time:<\/strong> 7:00pm\u20138:00pm<br \/>\n<strong>Ages:<\/strong> 12 \u2013 adult<\/p>\n<p>Want to learn to identify the flowers of our summer fields and roadsides but can\u2019t take one of our wildflower hikes? All programs require reservations by the Deadline Listed.
