This event is open to those at least 50-years-old and will take place at various locations in Clarksville, May 13th-17th.<\/p>\n<p>You don\u2019t have to be a pro to compete! Competitors can enjoy bowling, table tennis, pickleball, badminton, horseshoes, shuffleboard, swimming, track &amp; field events, and more! Competitors can also enjoy a delicious and fun meal at the closing dinner! Visit <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cityofclarksville.com\/50plusolympics\" >www.cityofclarksville.com\/50plusolympics<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Mayor\u2019s Summer Night Lights<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Clarksville Parks and Recreation seeks vendors and volunteers for Mayor\u2019s Summer Night Lights<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department is seeking vendors for the upcoming Mayor\u2019s Summer Night Lights program! Summer Night Lights is a free program offered to youth and teens in the community. The program includes activities, sports tournaments, guest speakers and food!<\/p>\n<p>In order to reach an even larger section of the community, Summer Night Lights will expand to six locations of summer fun, the Kleeman Community Center, Summit Heights, Bel-Aire Park, Lincoln Homes, and Pettus Park, on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:00pm to 9:30pm beginning June 9th.<\/p>\n<p>Want to be a part of this awesome program? Booth space for vendors is free and includes a tent, table and chairs.<\/p>\n<p>Each booth must have an activity for youth and teens and can be provided by the organization or by Clarksville Parks and Recreation.<\/p>\n<p>Summer Night Lights also relies on the helping hands of volunteers. What better way to start your day, than to relax with the beauty of the Cumberland River, and Yoga in the Park?<\/p>\n<p>Yoga in the Park is a free class that will be held on the stage behind the \u201cAs the River Flows\u201d museum at McGregor Park, on Riverside Drive. Class will meet Wednesdays and Fridays at 6:00am, May 14th-June 20th. All ages are welcome.<\/p>\n<p>Participants must bring their own yoga mat. The participant(s) with the highest attendance at the end of the program will be eligible to receive a gift card!<\/p>\n<p>Registration for Yoga in the Park is available at the Parks &amp; Recreation Main Office Downtown, or online at recpro.cityofclarksville.com.<\/p>\n<h3>Civil War Medical Display<\/h3>\n<p>The Fort Defiance Interpretive Center will host a medical display Saturday, May 24th from 10:00am to 5:00pm.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibit features presentations by Mark Britton and includes a collection of medical items used during the 19th century to include necessary tools for blood-letting, various surgical procedures and preparation of period medicinal products. The display also includes information regarding use of indigenous herbs used in medical practices.<\/p>\n<p>Visitors can explore the well preserved outer earthen works, powder magazine, and gun platforms.
