Step into the pages of the literary classic written in 1900 by L. Frank Baum and illustrated by W.W. Denslow.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_213779\" style=\"width: 269px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Try-on-the-Silver-Slippers.jpg\"  class=\"thickbox no_icon\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-213779\" class=\"wp-image-213779 \" title=\"Try on the Silver Slippers\" alt=\"Try on the Silver Slippers\" src=\"http:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Try-on-the-Silver-Slippers-480x319.jpg\" width=\"259\" height=\"172\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-213779\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Try on the Silver Slippers<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Designed to engage and challenge guests to step into reading, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz invites visitors into large pop-up book pages that frame each section of this exhibit. Visitors learn through play with brain teaser games, role playing, dress-up, and other educational activities incorporated throughout.<\/p>\n<p>This exhibit involves 11 sections, or \u201cchapters,\u201d each addressing a different element of the story, such as Dorothy\u2019s House, Tornado, Emerald City, and Glinda\u2019s Castle.<\/p>\n<p>Exhibit sponsored by Planters Bank. The Wonderful Wizard of Oz is produced and toured by Great Explorations Children\u2019s Museum, St. Petersburg, Florida \u00a9 2010. Exhibition sponsored in part by the APSU Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Fascinating Mr. Warhol: Photographs by Raeanne Rubenstein<\/strong><br \/>\nThrough May 4th<\/p>\n<p>Rubenstein made her name in New York City shooting celebrities such as John Lennon, Muhammad Ali, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Mick Jagger, The Beatles, and Andy Warhol, with whom she became friends.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Women\u2019s History Month: Family and Family Ties: An Installation by Sher Fick<\/strong><br \/>\nThrough May 4th<\/p>\n<p>For the sixth annual Women\u2019s History Month exhibition, the Customs House Museum is featuring the work of contemporary female photographers and an installation by award-winning artist Sher Fick. Both shows fall under the theme of \u201cfamily.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Art of Peach McComb<\/strong><br \/>\nThrough April 27th<\/p>\n<p>Nashville artist Peach McComb brings the outdoors in, painting in both impressionistic and representational styles.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Easter Parade<\/strong><br \/>\nThrough April 27th<\/p>\n<p>Lobby exhibit of women\u2019s hats, gloves, hankies, and handbags.<\/p>\n<h3>Activities<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Let\u2019s Find: Green (\u201cIt\u2019s Not Easy Being Green\u201d)<\/strong><br \/>\nApril 2nd &amp; 3rd, 10:30am\u201311:30am<\/p>\n<p>Preschool age children visit the Emerald City with three green friends: the Grinch, Shrek, and Kermit the Frog. We will also read a story and make a craft. Program is free with Museum Membership or paid admission.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A Gallery Talk with Raeanne Rubenstein<\/strong><br \/>\nApril 8th, 7:00pm\u20138:30pm, Free Admission<\/p>\n<p>[320right]Raeanne Rubenstein has worked with some of the biggest names in movies, music, and pop culture. Join her as she discusses her photography in The Fascinating Mr. Warhol.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ladies Night<\/strong><br \/>\nApril 11th, 6:00pm\u20138:00pm, Free Admission<\/p>\n<p>Celebrate Women\u2019s History Month with a gallery talk with artist Sher Fick, a discussion on vintage clothing and jewelry with Karen Parr-Moody, and Women\u2019s health information. Light refreshments will be served. Vintage hat and glove attire is encouraged!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Family Day Activity: Animals in Art &amp; Literature<\/strong><br \/>\nApril 12th, 10:00am\u20134:00pm<\/p>\n<p>Second Saturday is FREE admission day!<\/p>\n<p>Meet illustrator W.W. Denslow\u2019s Winged Monkeys, Cowardly Lion, and Toto in Frank L.
