\"TheClarksville, TN<\/strong> – The Customs House Museum and Cultural Center is located in historic downtown Clarksville, Tennessee. Come explore an entire city block featuring large gallery spaces filled with fine art, science and history.<\/p>\n

In the month of March, the Museum will feature Sessions with Andy Warhol, Family and Family Ties: An Installation by Sher Fick, TACA Regional Exhibition, The Art of Peach McComb, Easter Parade, Let\u2019s Find: The Color Yellow, Here Comes The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, and Sunday Family Day: Paper is Not Just for Airplanes.<\/p>\n

A rare exhibition of Andy Warhol\u2019s photographic celebrity portraits are on loan from the University of South Carolina Upstate. Exhibition sponsored in part by the APSU Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts.<\/p>\n

Women\u2019s History Month<\/strong>
\nFamily and Family Ties: An Installation by Sher Fick
\nMarch 6th-May 4th<\/p>\n

For the sixth annual Women\u2019s History Month exhibition, the Customs House Museum is featuring the work of contemporary female photographers and an installation by award-winning artist Sher Fick. Both shows fall under the theme of \u201cfamily.\u201d<\/p>\n

TACA Regional Exhibition<\/strong>

30 members of the Tennessee Association of Craft Artists exhibit tapestries, carvings, sculptures, paintings, embroideries, & photography.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s Find: The Color Yellow<\/strong>
\nMarch 5th & 6th, 10:30am\u201311:30am<\/p>\n

Children 3 \u2013 5 years old and their grown-ups are invited to explore the museum from a child\u2019s perspective. This month\u2019s Let\u2019s Find was inspired by a young child who told me that her favorite color was yellow. We will also read a story and make a craft.<\/p>\n

This activity is free with paid admission or your museum membership. Siblings are always welcome.<\/p>\n

Spring Break: Here Comes The Wonderful Wizard of Oz<\/strong>
\nMarch 26th \u2013 28th, 11:00am\u20133:00pm<\/p>\n

Before The Wonderful Wizard of Oz was a movie, it was a book, written by Frank L. Baum in 1900 and illustrated by W.W. Denslow.<\/p>\n

In anticipation of our upcoming exhibit, we\u2019ll be introducing you to the book through our activities during spring break. On Tuesday we\u2019ll find out who Dorothy was and what color her special slippers really were.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ll be \u201cgoing to the dogs\u201d on Wednesday as we pay tribute to Dorothy\u2019s traveling companion, Toto. Thursday we\u2019ll explore the lion\u2019s history in children\u2019s literature with the help of the Cowardly Lion.<\/p>\n

We will wrap up the week on Friday through the eyes of the Tin Woodman and the Scarecrow. This family activity is free with your museum membership or paid admission. The Wonderful Wizard of Oz will be on exhibit beginning April 1st.<\/p>\n

Sunday Family Day: Paper is Not Just for Airplanes<\/strong>
\nMarch 30th, 1:00pm\u20134:00pm<\/p>\n

Anne Mage has used tiny pieces of paper to create two amazing works of art, Kaleidoscope and The Tree of Life, which are located in the Crouch Gallery. Using paper, scissors, and glue, children and their parents will be given the opportunity to create their own unique artwork to display in their homes. This activity is free with your paid admission or museum membership.<\/p>\n

\"Customs<\/a>Located in the heart of historic downtown Clarksville, Tennessee, the Customs House Museum and Cultural Center is the State\u2019s second largest general museum.<\/p>\n

With over 35,000 square feet of the region\u2019s best hands-on activities and special events\u2026people of all ages agree \u2013 the Customs House Museum is well worth the stop!<\/p>\n

The Explorer\u2019s Gallery is packed with fun, learning and fantasy in Aunt Alice\u2019s Attic, McGregor\u2019s Market and kitchen, and of course \u2013 the Bubble Cave! Finally, get \u201call aboard\u201d to see our fantastic model trains. Our volunteer engineers \u201cride the rails\u201d every Sunday afternoon from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.<\/p>\n

Regular museum hours are 10:00am to 5:00pm Tuesday through Saturday, and 1:00pm to 5:00pm on Sundays. Adult admission is $7.00, Senior Citizens and College ID $5.00, Ages 6 to 18 $3.00, and under six years and Museum members are free.<\/p>\n
