Exhibition sponsored in part by the APSU Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Women\u2019s History Month<\/strong><br \/>\nFamily and Family Ties: An Installation by Sher Fick<br \/>\nMarch 6th-May 4th<\/p>\n<p>For the sixth annual Women\u2019s History Month exhibition, the Customs House Museum is featuring the work of contemporary female photographers and an installation by award-winning artist Sher Fick. Both shows fall under the theme of \u201cfamily.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>TACA Regional Exhibition<\/strong><br \/>\nThrough March 30th<\/p>\n<p>30 members of the Tennessee Association of Craft Artists exhibit tapestries, carvings, sculptures, paintings, embroideries, &amp; photography.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Art of Peach McComb<\/strong><br \/>\nThrough March 30th<\/p>\n<p>Paintings by Nashville artist Peach McComb.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Easter Parade<\/strong><br \/>\nThrough March 30th<\/p>\n<p>Lobby exhibit of women\u2019s hats, gloves, hankies, and handbags.<\/p>\n<h3>Activities<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Let\u2019s Find: The Color Yellow<\/strong><br \/>\nMarch 5th &amp; 6th, 10:30am\u201311:30am<\/p>\n<p>Children 3 \u2013 5 years old and their grown-ups are invited to explore the museum from a child\u2019s perspective. This month\u2019s Let\u2019s Find was inspired by a young child who told me that her favorite color was yellow. We will also read a story and make a craft.<\/p>\n<p>This activity is free with paid admission or your museum membership. Siblings are always welcome.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Spring Break: Here Comes The Wonderful Wizard of Oz<\/strong><br \/>\nMarch 26th \u2013 28th, 11:00am\u20133:00pm<\/p>\n<p>Before The Wonderful Wizard of Oz was a movie, it was a book, written by Frank L. Baum in 1900 and illustrated by W.W. Denslow.<\/p>\n<p>In anticipation of our upcoming exhibit, we\u2019ll be introducing you to the book through our activities during spring break. On Tuesday we\u2019ll find out who Dorothy was and what color her special slippers really were.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ll be \u201cgoing to the dogs\u201d on Wednesday as we pay tribute to Dorothy\u2019s traveling companion, Toto. Thursday we\u2019ll explore the lion\u2019s history in children\u2019s literature with the help of the Cowardly Lion.<\/p>\n<p>We will wrap up the week on Friday through the eyes of the Tin Woodman and the Scarecrow. This family activity is free with your museum membership or paid admission. The Wonderful Wizard of Oz will be on exhibit beginning April 1st.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sunday Family Day: Paper is Not Just for Airplanes<\/strong><br \/>\nMarch 30th, 1:00pm\u20134:00pm<\/p>\n<p>Anne Mage has used tiny pieces of paper to create two amazing works of art, Kaleidoscope and The Tree of Life, which are located in the Crouch Gallery. Using paper, scissors, and glue, children and their parents will be given the opportunity to create their own unique artwork to display in their homes. Our volunteer engineers \u201cride the rails\u201d every Sunday afternoon from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.<\/p>\n<p>Regular museum hours are 10:00am to 5:00pm Tuesday through Saturday, and 1:00pm to 5:00pm on Sundays.
