The pieces in that collection were donated to the University by Ned and Jacqueline Crouch and Dr. Joe Trahern.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_208153\" style=\"width: 490px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/apsubuilding-2.jpg\"  class=\"thickbox no_icon\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-208153\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-208153\" title=\"A rendering of the renovated building provided by Gilbert McLaughlin Casella Architects.\" alt=\"A rendering of the renovated building provided by Gilbert McLaughlin Casella Architects.\" src=\"http:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/apsubuilding-2-480x310.jpg\" width=\"480\" height=\"310\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-208153\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">A rendering of the renovated building provided by Gilbert McLaughlin Casella Architects.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis building provides the University with a much more visible connection with the downtown community, and it offers an opportunity to forge a better relationship between Austin Peay and the downtown, especially the art district,\u201d Mitch Robinson, vice president of finance and administration at APSU, said. \u201cWe will have a better presence and a better opportunity to showcase what our faculty and students produce, in terms of art.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The three-story building also has the potential to house the University\u2019s Tennessee Small Business Development Center and the APSU Department of Art\u2019s famed Goldsmith Press. The roof and the HVAC mechanical systems must be replaced, and the bathrooms need to be completely renovated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have a whole list of these things that we have currently out for the regional architect to evaluate and determine what the overall cost will be to do all that,\u201d Robinson said. \u201cWe\u2019ll probably be doing that in phases, and we hope to start by replacing the roof in the next three or four months. But that won\u2019t really get you into the building.
