On Tuesday, December 24th, 2013, service will stop at 5:00pm with the last bus departing the Transit Center at 4:00pm.<\/p>\n<p>Regular service will resume on Thursday morning, December 26th, 2013 on all normal routes. There will be no CTS service on December 25th, 2013.<!--more-->Additionally, on New Year\u2019s Eve, The Clarksville Transit System will again offer safe rides home.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOperation Safe Ride\u201d is a free service open to anyone who is too impaired to drive home. People who live within the Clarksville city limits can call for a ride between the hours of 11:00pm and 4:00am for a ride home.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCTS began this program more than twenty-five years ago and we average about 150 riders a year. Over the years, we have helped hundreds of people get home safely,\u201d said Jimmy Smith, Director of the Clarksville Transit System. \u201cWe\u2019re happy to be able to offer the program<br \/>\nagain this year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Anyone who cannot, or should not, drive home on New Year\u2019s Eve can call 931.553.2429 to request a ride. Information is also being posted in restaurants, bars and other stores around town with the phone number. CTS emphasizes that this is not a shuttle service. People will be picked up at their location and driven directly home.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI encourage everyone who needs a safe ride home on New Year\u2019s Eve to take advantage of this service. Whether you are at a public or private party in Clarksville, we want to make sure you get home safely.
