\"Clarksville'sClarksville, TN<\/strong> – The human form is the theme of the upcoming national juried exhibition at the Customs House Museum. Entries for the show, Figuratively Speaking, are currently being accepted. The 2014 show is open to artists 18 years and older, residing in the United States.<\/p>\n

The juror for the exhibition is Ruth Crnkovich, fine art appraiser and collection management specialist for private collectors, corporations, and museums. Ruth has served on multiple museum boards, including as a founding member of the Nathan Manilow Sculpture Park in Illinois.<\/p>\n

Customs House Exhibit Curator Terri Jordan says \u201cWe are thrilled that Ms. Crnkovich will be jurying our first themed national exhibition. Ruth comes with a vast knowledge of fine art and truly has an understanding of the contemporary art scene. She has published articles, critiques and essays internationally.\u201d As for the concept of a themed show, Jordan continues, \u201cThe human figure is such a universal subject in art. We are very excited to see the varied styles and interpretations artists submit. Our 2012 exhibition was the first time we went national and the selected artist came from all parts of the country. The works were first rate in their quality\u201d.<\/p>\n

Artists have until February 23rd to submit their entries. Over $1500 in awards will be given. Prospectuses for the show can be found on the museum\u2019s website, www.customshousemuseum.org<\/a>. The show will open to the public on May 7th, with an evening reception on May 9th.<\/p>\n

Located in the heart of historic downtown Clarksville, Tennessee, the Customs House Museum and Cultural Center is the State\u2019s second largest general museum. Regular museum hours are 10:00am to 5:00pm Tuesday through Saturday, and 1:00pm to 5:00pm on Sundays. Adult admission is $7.00, Sr. Citizens and College ID $5.00, Ages 6 to 18 $3.00, and under six years and Museum members are free.<\/p>\n
