\"ClarksvilleClarksville, TN<\/strong> – The City of Clarksville\u2019s Christmas on the Cumberland, a Southeast Tourism Society\u2019s Top 20 Event for the sixth year in a row, is sure to create lasting memories this holiday season as thousands experience the captivating displays of over one million lights to include trees wrapped in new blue lights!<\/p>\n

Join the City of Clarksville and US Bank as we celebrate Christmas on the Cumberland\u2019s 15th year with a grand opening ceremony, Tuesday, November 26th, 2013 at 6:30pm at McGregor Park\u2019s RiverWalk.<\/p>\n

2013 Christmas on the Cumberland Grand Opening Tuesday night.<\/p><\/div>\n

The grand opening will feature the official lighting of the Cumberland by Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan along with special guests, Channel 4 News Snowbird and DreamWorks Animation\u2019s Gingy, the most famous of all gingerbread men, for a heartwarming hug that you can capture with your own camera.<\/p>\n

Enjoy free hot chocolate and treats from Jersey Mike\u2019s. Drinks and sweets will be available for purchase.<\/p>\n

Christmas on the Cumberland will be open nightly from 5:00pm-10:00pm, Sunday through Thursday and 5:00pm-11:00pm, Fridays and Saturdays through January 4th, 2014. Admission to the event is free.<\/p>\n

Family friendly activities will take place multiple Friday and Saturday nights from 6:00pm-8:00pm. Kids will have the opportunity to decorate cookies, create crafts, and enjoy special performances by local dance groups.<\/p>\n

The Christmas Cookie Bake-Off that was once a feature of \u201cDowntown for the Holidays\u201d is now part of Christmas on the Cumberland! Enter your favorite recipe for a chance to win prizes! Visit www.cityofclarksville.com<\/a> for a schedule of events.<\/p>\n

\u201cGiving on the Cumberland\u201d is a new feature this year that encourages visitors to help those in need. From November 26th-December 21st, \u201cornaments\u201d with items of need from the following non-profit organizations will be placed on the window panels of the museum: Hope Pregnancy Center, The Fisher House, Serenity House Women\u2019s Shelter, Montgomery County Friends of the Shelter, Junior Auxiliary, Clarksville Montgomery County School System.<\/p>\n

Visitors to Christmas on the Cumberland will have the opportunity to take an \u201cornament\u201d and bring their donation to the Parks & Recreation main office, or on the scheduled drop off night to the museum, December 21st.<\/p>\n
