Frank Baum and illustrated by W.W. Denslow.<\/p>\n<p>The Customs House Museum is the only museum in Tennessee and the immediate region to present this experience to its 35,000 annual visitors.<\/p>\n<p>Designed to engage and challenge guests to step into reading, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz invites visitors into large pop-up book pages that frame each section of this exhibit. Visitors learn through play with brain teaser games, role playing, dress-up, and other educational activities incorporated throughout.<\/p>\n<p>Also on display will be a variety of Wizard of Oz memorabilia from the collection of John Olson, including Madame Alexander dolls, original scripts, books, autographs, and more.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPlanters Bank has always been a dedicated supporter of the Customs House, along with the arts in general in the markets we serve,\u201d says Elizabeth McCoy, President\/CEO of Planters Bank. \u201cWe\u2019re honored and excited to have the opportunity to bring this magnificent exhibit to Clarksville. It will be a delight for all ages!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This exhibit involves 11 sections, or \u201cchapters,\u201d each addressing a different element of the story, such as Dorothy\u2019s House, Tornado, Emerald City, and Glinda\u2019s Castle. With over 35,000 square feet of the region\u2019s best hands-on activities and special events\u2026people of all ages agree \u2013 the Customs House Museum is well worth the stop!<\/p>\n<p>The Explorer\u2019s Gallery is packed with fun, learning and fantasy in Aunt Alice\u2019s Attic, McGregor\u2019s Market and kitchen, and of course \u2013 the Bubble Cave! Finally, get \u201call aboard\u201d to see our fantastic model trains. Our volunteer engineers \u201cride the rails\u201d every Sunday afternoon from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.<\/p>\n<p>Regular museum hours are 10:00am to 5:00pm Tuesday through Saturday, and 1:00pm to 5:00pm on Sundays.
