Fall Recreation Program Guide now available<\/h3>\n

\"2013<\/a>Printed copies of the Fall 2013 Program Guide are now available to the public at the Clarksville Parks and Recreation office, City Hall, City recreation centers, pools and other Parks and Recreation facilities located throughout the City. Individuals can also download a free copy online at www.cityofclarksville.com\/programguides<\/a> or request a copy by calling 931.645.7476.<\/p>\n

Recreation Program Guides are published four times a year and provide detailed information regarding classes, unique programs and special events happening in the City of Clarksville.<\/p>\n

\u201cRally on the Cumberland\u201d & Outdoor Expo<\/h3>\n

\"\u201cRally<\/a>The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department has partnered with The Friends of the Blueway to host the 1st Annual \u201cRally on the Cumberland\u201d Canoe and Kayak Race and Outdoor Expo on August 24th.<\/p>\n

Come cheer on race participants beginning at 7:00am and check out the Outdoor Expo, featuring outdoor recreation classes, vendors and demonstrations from 10:30am to 3:00pm at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center.<\/p>\n

Volunteers needed for project at Robert Clark Park and Natural Area<\/h3>\n

\"ClarksvilleVolunteers are needed August 12th-23rd to help with the construction of the Blueway boardwalk at the Robert Clark Park and Natural Area, located at 1449 Tiny Town Road.<\/p>\n

Volunteer shifts are available from 8:00am-12:00pm and 1:00pm-5:00pm daily. Materials and water coolers will be supplied but volunteers are encouraged to bring their own work gloves, sunscreen, bug spray and work boots. Those interested should contact Melissa Adkins at 931.645.7476 to sign up as soon as possible<\/p>\n

Riverfest Regatta registration under way<\/h3>\n

\"RiverfestThe Riverfest Regatta, sponsored by U.S. Bank, is not your typical boat race. The boats racing down the Cumberland River Saturday morning, September 7th, will be made of cardboard or plastic bottles and a few other approved materials. Not only will teams be racing for bragging rights, but trophies will also be awarded to the first-, second- and third-place teams in each division.<\/p>\n

Register by September 4th to compete in one of the following divisions: Adult Open, Business and Industry, Church\/Civic, City Department and Military. If you think you have what it takes, register online at recpro.cityofclarksville.com.<\/p>\n

Tour d\u2019Art Exhibits and Competitions<\/h3>\n

\"Clarksville'sDon\u2019t miss the deadlines for the Riverfest Art Exhibits and Competitions! This year\u2019s competition will feature the following three exhibits: Amateur & Professional Divisions, High School Division, and the Senior Citizens\u2019 Division.<\/p>\n

The exhibits will be featured at various locations in downtown Clarksville including: the Smith-Trahern Mansion on McClure Street, the Customs House Museum on Second Street, and the Downtown Artists Co-Op on Franklin Street. They are judged and over $2,500 in prizes are awarded.<\/p>\n
