So this year, the park began work on the garden. The dirt work was started this summer. There is more dirt work to be done.

“There are terraces that have to be put in. We have a mud garden that has to go in the center, because butterflies really like mud,” stated Seasonal Interpretive Ranger Shawn Settle.

“The planting will take place this fall. We will have trees to be planted and flower blubs,” said Settle. “By this spring, it will be our full fledged Butterfly Garden.”

For events going on this week at Dunbar Cave, see: Dunbar Cave State Park Programs for July 7th through July 13th, 2013

For more information about Dunbar Cave State Park, visit their website.

Clarksville, TN – If you have visited Dunbar Cave State Park lately, you will have noticed that the back plaza area has been dug up and is mainly a pile of dirt.
