Many \u201cAdopt-a-Plots\u201d are open to adopt by any group, family, organization or individual!<\/p>\n<p>Caring for an Adopt-a-Plot is easy! Adoptees must submit a signed contract, species list and design to the City Forester and are responsible for the weekly maintenance and purchase of supplies. The City Forester can provide mulch as available and any training or assistance needed.<\/p>\n<p>The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department will provide a sign for the plot to show everyone who has adopted that particular area.<\/p>\n<h3>Free Sports Tournaments<\/h3>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/Mayors-Summer-Night-Lights2.jpg\"  class=\"thickbox no_icon\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-180880\" title=\"Mayor's Summer Night Lights\" alt=\"Mayor's Summer Night Lights\" src=\"http:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/Mayors-Summer-Night-Lights2-130x200.jpg\" width=\"130\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a>Get out on the court and show us what you\u2019ve got! Free 5-on-5 basketball and 7-on-7 flag football tournaments will be held as part of the Mayor\u2019s Summer Night Lights program!<\/p>\n<p>These sports tournaments are open to ages 11-14, 15-17, and 18 and up. Those wanting to play must be at the location no later than 5:45pm to sign up.<\/p>\n<p>Free food and drinks will be provided!<\/p>\n<p>Basketball tournaments will be held at Bel-Aire Park, Summit Heights and the Kleeman Center.<\/p>\n<h4>The schedule of basketball is as follows:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Kleeman Center<\/strong> \u2013 July 1st<\/li>\n<li><strong>Summit Heights<\/strong> \u2013 July 2nd<\/li>\n<li><strong>Bel-Aire Park<\/strong> \u2013 July 8th<\/li>\n<li><strong>Kleeman Center<\/strong> \u2013 July 15th<\/li>\n<li><strong>Summit Heights<\/strong> \u2013 July 17th<\/li>\n<li><strong>Bel-Aire Park<\/strong> \u2013 July 22nd<\/li>\n<li><strong>Kleeman Center<\/strong> \u2013 July 29th<\/li>\n<li><strong>Summit Heights<\/strong> \u2013 July 31st<\/li>\n<li><strong>Bel-Aire Park<\/strong> \u2013 August 5th<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Flag football tournaments will be held at Pettus Park on:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>July 10th<\/li>\n<li>July 24th<\/li>\n<li>August 7th<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Independence Day Celebration<\/h3>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/IMG_5197.jpg\"  class=\"thickbox no_icon\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-127032\" title=\"Fireworks explode over Clarksville on July 3rd\" alt=\"Fireworks explode over Clarksville on July 3rd\" src=\"http:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/IMG_5197-200x133.jpg\" width=\"200\" height=\"133\" \/><\/a>We\u2019re celebrating our nation\u2019s freedom with the 6th annual Independence Day Celebration at a new location! Join us on Wednesday, July 3rd, at Liberty Park for food, fun and entertainment for the entire family. Performances by local bands Brio and The Beagles begin at 6:00pm followed by the city\u2019s largest fireworks display starting at 9:30pm!<\/p>\n<p>Guests are encouraged to park at the 7-acre grass area adjacent to the park, or at the old Josten\u2019s building, located at 1312 Hwy 48\/13. Clarksville Transit System will provide free rides to and from the parking areas beginning at 4:00pm with the last bus departing from Liberty Park at 10:30pm.<\/p>\n<h3>Independence Day Closures<\/h3>\n<p>In observance of Independence Day, the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Main Office, our three community centers and all Summer Youth Program sites will be closed on Thursday, July 4th. All five City pools will remain open.<\/p>\n<h3>Youth Co-Ed Flag Football<\/h3>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/Youth-Co-Ed-Flag-Football.jpg\"  class=\"thickbox no_icon\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-180885\" title=\"Youth Co-Ed Flag Football\" alt=\"Youth Co-Ed Flag Football\" src=\"http:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/Youth-Co-Ed-Flag-Football-129x200.jpg\" width=\"129\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a>A flag football clinic will be held for youth ages 5 to 17 at Northeast High School from 8:00am to noon, on July 13th.<\/p>\n<p>Costs $25.00 and includes a shirt, lunch and water bottle. Clinic participants are eligible to receive $5.00 off of registration for the Youth Flag Football League set to begin later this summer.
