But over the years, musicians such as Bob Dylan and Jeff Buckley recorded covers of the work, causing its popularity to skyrocket.<\/p>\n<p>Versions of the song have since appeared on TV shows such as \u201cOne Tree Hill\u201d and \u201cThe Voice,\u201d and movies like 2001\u2019s \u201cShrek.\u201d <!--more-->At 7:30pm on Wednesday, May 1st, the Austin Peay State University choral group Vocal Ease will perform an a cappella version of the now classic song during an evening of music that spans several centuries. The concert, \u201cFrom Vivaldi to the Pentatonix,\u201d will feature a wide range of works performed by three of APSU\u2019s choral ensembles \u2013 Vocal Ease, Governors Singers and University Choir.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s an evening meant to showcase the various vocal ensembles at the University,\u201d Dr. Korre Foster, director of choral activities at APSU, said. \u201cThe program will feature eclectic music, ranging from Heinrich von Herzogenberg to Clarksville\u2019s own George Mabry to the Pentatonix, all the way to Vivaldi. It will be local, contemporary, German Romanticism and Italian Baroque, both a cappella and accompanied.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The evening will begin with Foster directing the Governors Singers in several powerful works, such as Herzogenberg\u2019s \u201cDie Nacht\u201d and Mabry\u2019s \u201cA Chorister\u2019s Covert Concert.\u201d Then Hollie Dueker, APSU adjunct professor of music, will lead Vocal Ease in several pop-infused pieces, such as \u201cHallelujah\u201d and \u201cDream a Little Dream of Me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The University Choir, under the direction of APSU graduate student Zach Thompson, will then perform pieces by Anton Bruckner and Thomas Morley.
