{"id":1403,"date":"2009-07-03T15:52:16","date_gmt":"2009-07-03T20:52:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.discoverclarksville.com\/articles\/?p=1403"},"modified":"2009-07-03T15:52:16","modified_gmt":"2009-07-03T20:52:16","slug":"independence-day-celebration","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.discoverclarksville.com\/articles\/2009\/07\/03\/independence-day-celebration\/","title":{"rendered":"Independence Day Celebration"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"file:\/\/\/C:\/Documents%20and%20Settings\/Bill%20Larson\/My%20Documents\/My%20Videos\/DivX%20Movies\/Temporary%20Downloaded%20Files\/Cashback%20%282006%29.divx\" ><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.discoverclarksville.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/parksandrec.jpg\"  class=\"thickbox no_icon\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-1404\" title=\"parksandrec\" src=\"http:\/\/www.discoverclarksville.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/parksandrec-200x66.jpg\" alt=\"parksandrec\" width=\"200\" height=\"66\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.discoverclarksville.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/parksandrec-200x66.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.discoverclarksville.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/parksandrec-450x149.jpg 450w, https:\/\/www.discoverclarksville.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/parksandrec.jpg 604w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/a>The City of Clarksville is celebrating our nation\u2019s independence this year with the third annual Independence Day Celebration on Friday, July 3 at McGregor Park.\u00a0 The event will be filled with food, fun and entertainment for the entire family.\u00a0 Activities begin at 6:00p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Performers Traci Koon, Diana Pelham, The Groove Fellas and the 198thArmy Band will provide live music throughout the evening.\u00a0 The night will end with a spectacular fireworks finale, the largest in Clarksville.\u00a0 This year\u2019s fireworks display will also feature exciting new water pyrotechnics.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/gallery\/fireworks-07-03-2008\/img_1998.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"800\" \/><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><br \/>\nIn addition to musical entertainment, vendors will offer a variety of favorite foods including kettle corn, hotdogs, smoothies, homemade ice cream, cheesecake on a stick, shaved ice, schnitzel and more.<\/p>\n<p>Guests are encouraged to park at Austin Peay State University Dunn Center parking lot.\u00a0 The Clarksville Transit System will provide free rides to and from the designated parking area from 5:30- 10:15p.m.\u00a0 Buses will pick up and drop off passengers at the entrance of the boat ramp in McGregor Park.\u00a0 The last bus will depart from McGregor Park promptly at 10:15p.m.<\/p>\n<p>We ask that all attendees abide by some event rules at the Independence Day Celebration:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li> No roaming solicitation<\/li>\n<li> No weapons<\/li>\n<li> No pets allowed during event<\/li>\n<li> No drugs or alcoholic beverages allowed<\/li>\n<li> No fighting or foul language allowed<\/li>\n<li> No personal fireworks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This year\u2019s event is sponsored by The City of Clarksville, CDE Lightband, Ft.
