After receiving hundreds of entries from students in 1st thru 5th grade, the following were awarded:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>First Place, Overall Winner<\/strong> \u2013 Olivia Nazar, East Montgomery<\/li>\n<li><strong>Top Finalist<\/strong> \u2013 Wilson Raines, Hazelwood<\/li>\n<li><strong>Top Finalist<\/strong> \u2013 Kemeliz Fuentes, Barker\u2019s Mill<\/li>\n<li><strong>Semi-Finalist<\/strong> \u2013 Lyric Brooks \u2013 Barker\u2019s Mill<\/li>\n<li><strong>Semi-Finalist<\/strong> \u2013 Haley Baggett \u2013 East Montgomery<\/li>\n<li><strong>Semi-Finalist<\/strong> \u2013 Aamiyah Partridge \u2013 Hazelwood<\/li>\n<li><strong>Semi-Finalist<\/strong> \u2013 Jacie Layne \u2013 Moore Magnet<\/li>\n<li><strong>Semi-Finalist<\/strong> \u2013 Jenna Bricks \u2013 Moore Magnet<\/li>\n<li><strong>Semi-Finalist<\/strong> \u2013 Anna Vernetti \u2013 Sango<\/li>\n<li><strong>Semi-Finalist<\/strong> \u2013 Anna Carter \u2013 Sango<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The overall winning artwork will be featured on the official race T-shirt and event poster. Along with that honor, the top finalist has been awarded $100 and a Subway party for her art class, a framed copy of the 2013 Queen City Road Race poster, an art kit and a certificate.<\/p>\n<p>The 2013 Queen City Road Race will take place at Austin Peay State University Governors Stadium beginning at 8 a.m., Saturday, May 4 and will feature a 5K, 7K, One mile movement, and 5K Relay. Consider joining Clarksville\u2019s Parks &amp; Recreation lifeguard team at one of the City\u2019s five pools.<\/p>\n<p>Applicants must be at least 16 years old and pass a prerequisite skills test. The department provides CPR and lifesaving training to prepare them for their lifeguarding responsibilities. If interested, applications are available at the Indoor Aquatic Center and the Parks &amp; Recreation Main office. For more info, call 552-6199 or 472-3380.<\/p>\n<h3>Baseball, Blastball\u00ae, Softball &amp; T-ball Youth Recreation Leagues Registration is Underway<\/h3>\n<p>You can register your child at any of our community centers or at the Main office now through March 22 for our Youth Recreation Leagues. The baseball, softball, and t-ball league is open to youth ages 5 to 12. Your child\u2019s birth certificate is required at registration. All games are played at Heritage Park Baseball Fields. The cost to play in any of the youth recreation leagues is $40 per child and includes team shirt, hat and medal.<\/p>\n<p>Once again, for the 3 to 4 year olds, we will be offering Blastball\u00ae. This fun alternative to traditional t-ball uses a \u201chonking\u201d base to entertain younger players- adding excitement to the game. It concentrates on developing a child\u2019s running, hitting, catching, fielding, and throwing skills.<\/p>\n<h3>Tickets Available for Annual Legends Award Banquet<\/h3>\n<p>Winning coaches will be honored at the 2012 Legends Award Banquet which will be held February 28, 2013, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Freedom Point at Liberty Park. Coaches that are currently coaching or coached in 2012 are invited to attend this free event. A ticket is required to attend and can be reserved at the City of Clarksville Parks &amp; Recreation main office or online at <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cityofclarksville.com\/legends.\" >www.cityofclarksville.com\/legends.<\/a> Because of space limitations, there are only 120 tickets available.
