See her work through March 3rd.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Forest and Field: Paintings by Patty Halbeck<\/strong><br \/>\nPatty Halbeck communicates intensely felt emotion through her colorful landscape paintings. Through February 25th.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hunt Slonem: New to the Collection<\/strong><br \/>\nPainter Hunt Slonem has donated new pieces to the Customs House Museum collection. His charmingly childlike depictions of rabbits and his famous birds are on display through March 4th.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eat Well, Play Well<\/strong><br \/>\nThis highly interactive exhibit encourages healthy living by teaching the science of making healthy food choices and helping children and adults discover that there are many fun and interesting ways to stay active. Hands-on components teach appropriate serving size, test your flexibility and balance, and more! Through May 5th.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Beyond the Abyss: Phil Crouch and the Bathysphere Adventure<\/strong><br \/>\nSee photographs, drawings, models, and documents relating to the historic bathysphere, a spherical device used by divers to study marine life in the 1930s. Through February 28th.<\/p>\n<h3>Activities<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Winter Film Fest: An Affair to Remember<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>February 9th, 2:00pm Free Admission.<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Winter Film Fest continues with the showing of An Affair to Remember, a poignant and humorous love story starring Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Let\u2019s Find: Patterns<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>February 13th &amp; 14th, 10:30am\u201311:30am<\/strong><br \/>\nChildren 3 \u2013 5 years old and their grown-ups are invited to explore the museum from a child\u2019s perspective. This month we will be looking for patterns. Our first stop will be Miranda Herrick\u2019s exhibit \u201cReflective.\u201d We will also read a story and make a craft. This activity is free to museum members. Non-members pay the regular adult admission of $7.00, plus $1.00 per child 3 years and older. Siblings are always welcome.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sunday Family Fun Day: Recycled Art<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>February 24th, 1:00pm\u20135:00pm<\/strong><br \/>\nArtist Miranda Herrick has turned trash into beautiful art, using even the bar codes from aluminum cans. You are invited to bring your imagination to the museum and see what you can make from our trash and recyclable objects. This event is free will your paid admission or museum membership. For more information contact Sue Lewis at 931-648-5780.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Art &amp; Lunch: David Hockney: A Bigger Picture<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>February 21st, 12:05pm. Free Admission (to film only)<\/strong><br \/>\nFilmed over three years with unprecedented access, this documentary follows painter David Hockney as he returns to England after 25 years in Hollywood. In conjunction with the exhibit Forest and Field: Paintings by Patty Halbeck.<\/p>\n<p>The Museum will be closed February 18th for Presidents&#8217; Day.<\/p>\n<h3>About the Customs House Museum<\/h3>\n<p>Located in the heart of historic downtown Clarksville, Tennessee, the Customs House Museum and Cultural Center is the State\u2019s second largest general museum. With over 35,000 square feet of the region\u2019s best hands-on activities and special events\u2026people of all ages agree \u2013 the Customs House Museum is well worth the stop!<\/p>\n<p>The Explorer\u2019s Gallery is packed with fun, learning and fantasy in Aunt Alice\u2019s Attic, McGregor\u2019s Market and kitchen, and of course \u2013 the Bubble Cave! Finally, get \u201call aboard\u201d to see our fantastic model trains. Our volunteer engineers \u201cride the rails\u201d every Sunday afternoon from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.<\/p>\n<p>Regular museum hours are 10:00am to 5:00pm Tuesday through Saturday, and 1:00pm to 5:00pm on Sundays.
