The Task Force\u2019s goal is to review Clarksville\u2019s design review committee structure and present recommendations to simplify and streamline the design approval process.<!--more-->\u201cCurrently, there are multiple stakeholder committees who evaluate specific areas of Clarksville or specific kinds of development,\u201d said Mayor McMillan. \u201cIt just makes sense to combine these efforts so that development across the City is efficient and consistent. I also believe it\u2019s important to have participation from each of the organizations who have been involved in the process as well as the Regional Planning Commission.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>The Mayor has appointed the following people to the Task Force<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>RPC Director:<\/strong> David Ripple \u2013 Chair<\/li>\n<li><strong>B&amp;C Director:<\/strong> Mike Baker<\/li>\n<li><strong>Architect Representative:<\/strong> Sally Castleman<\/li>\n<li><strong>Engineer Representative:<\/strong> David Smith<\/li>\n<li><strong>Landscape Architect Representative:<\/strong> Laura Schroeder<\/li>\n<li><strong>Commercial Builder Representative:<\/strong> Fulton Wilson<\/li>\n<li><strong>Commercial Sign Contractor Representative:<\/strong> Scott Harrison<\/li>\n<li><strong>Electrician\/Lighting Contractor Representative:<\/strong> Dennis Pitts<\/li>\n<li><strong>TRC Chairman:<\/strong> Chris Goodman<\/li>\n<li><strong>CBID Representative:<\/strong> Charles Foust<\/li>\n<li><strong>Madison Street Corridor Representative:<\/strong> Marsha Williams<\/li>\n<li><strong>Historic Zoning Representative:<\/strong> Doug Jones<\/li>\n<li><strong>Residential Real Estate Representative:<\/strong> Syd Hedrick<\/li>\n<li><strong>Commercial Real Estate Representative:<\/strong> Wayne Wilkinson<\/li>\n<li><strong>At Large:<\/strong> Mark Holleman<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">All of the City Council members will serve as non-voting Ex Officio members of the Task Force. Dr. Ripple will serve as Chair of the Task Force.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is going to be a big undertaking and I sincerely appreciate everyone who has agreed to serve on the Task Force,\u201d Mayor McMillan said. \u201cDr. Ripple, Director of the Clarksville-Montgomery County Regional Planning Commission, has suggested that it could take as long as six months to get a handle on all of the issues involved.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It\u2019s clear that Clarksville has grown so much that the current structure just doesn\u2019t work efficiently to further the progress we can, and need, to make,&#8221; stated Mayor McMillan. &#8220;This Task Force will to look at practical ways we can move forward to encourage, rather than hinder, development in all areas of Clarksville.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Clarksville, TN &#8211; Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan will host the first organizational meeting of the newly appointed Design Review Task Force on February 5th, 2013 at 3:00pm.
