\"CityClarksville, TN<\/strong> \u2013 Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan yesterday recognized the contributions of Catholic Charities of Tennessee in Middle Tennessee, especially in Clarksville and Montgomery County, in a meeting with Deasree Williams, counselor in the Adoption & Pregnancy Counseling program, and Mark Barry, agency marketing director, during which she presented a proclamation honoring the agency\u2019s recent 50th anniversary.<\/p>\n

Deasree Williams (left), a counselor in the Clarksville office of the Adoption & Pregnancy Counseling program of Catholic Charities of Tennessee, met with Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan on July 31st to accept a proclamation honoring the agency for its contributions to the people of Clarksville and Montgomery County on the occasion of the agency\u2019s 50th anniversary.<\/p><\/div>\n

\u201cCatholic Charities of Tennessee has been a tremendous member of the Clarksville community for more than 20 years through its many programs focused on strengthening families and providing hope to individuals,\u201d said Mayor McMillan. \u201cWe are grateful that the agency is so supportive of our needs here.\u201d<\/p>\n

Catholic Charities of Tennessee has had an active physical presence in Clarksville since July 1990, when the Social Services department established an office in the St. Joseph Center of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.<\/p>\n

Subsequently, in 1995, the Adoption & Pregnancy Counseling program opened an office at 115 7th Street. In January 2007, the departments consolidated their operations when both moved to 1905 Madison Street on the Immaculate Conception School campus.<\/p>\n

More than 69,000 people throughout Middle Tennessee were served by Catholic Charities last year. The agency\u2019s services are available to all people in need, regardless of religious, ethnic, cultural and racial background.<\/p>\n
