The City of Clarksville Parks &amp; Recreation Department along with Manna Caf\u00e9, L.E.A.P. Organization, Workforce Essentials, Miller-Motte Technical College, BFS Insurance, DBS &amp; Associates Engineering, S.A.T. Entertainment, and Coca-Cola\u00ae has been offering extended hours and lots of great activities all for free at two Parks &amp; Recreation facilities.<\/p>\n<p>The last two events of the series will take place August 2nd from 6:00pm to 9:30pm at Kleeman Community Center, and August 3rd from 6:00pm to 10:30pm at Dixon Park. Events include basketball games, fitness classes, music, and so much more. Bring the whole family; there is something for everyone to enjoy!<\/p>\n<h3>Riverfest is seeking Volunteers<\/h3>\n<p>Each and every year, in order to ensure a successful festival, Riverfest counts on hundreds of volunteers from our community. We would love for you or your organization to help make Riverfest 2012 a success! Volunteers are needed to sell drinks, help with activities, and in the kid\u2019s adventure zone.<\/p>\n<p>To sign up today and to learn more about this opportunity, visit <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.hon.org\" >www.hon.org<\/a> and search &#8220;Riverfest&#8221;.<\/p>\n<h3>Vote for Clarksville&#8217;s Downtown Market<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Help the Clarksville Downtown Market win the title of \u201cAmerica\u2019s Favorite Farmers Market\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Thank you to everyone who has voted for the Clarksville Downtown Market in the American Farmland Trust&#8217;s Favorite Farmers Market contest. We are currently ranked #1 in Tennessee, but still need your votes to be #1 in the nation!<\/p>\n<p>According to the contest rules, people can vote for as many participating farmers markets as they choose, but can only vote for each market once. Voting runs through midnight on Monday September 3rd, when one small, one medium, one mid-size, and one large market will win the title of \u201cAmerica\u2019s Favorite Farmers Market\u201d for 2012.<\/p>\n<p>The winning markets will be featured in the media and will be honored at local celebrations organized by American Farmland Trust. If you yet to visit the Clarksville Downtown Market, be sure to come downtown to Public Square, Saturdays from 8:00am to 1:00pm.<\/p>\n<h3>Free Zumba<\/h3>\n<p>Burt-Cobb Community Center is offering free Zumba classes for the entire month of August! This popular program combines music and dance in an effort to make exercise fun! Classes begin August 2nd and are held every Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30pm-6:30pm.<\/p>\n<p>Beginning in September, the cost will be $3.00 per class.<\/p>\n<h3>Pooch Pool Party<\/h3>\n<p>Patrons and their pups are invited to join the party, Saturday, August 11th, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at Swan Lake Sports Complex Pool, located at 2002 Sanders Road. Dogs will be able to take a dip in the pool and their owners can visit with dog-related businesses and organizations from around town, play games, and register for a chance to win prizes!<\/p>\n<p>All dogs must be at least 6 months old and have proof of current vaccinations. Ramps will be available to provide easy access to the pool for the dogs.
