\"TheClarksville, TN<\/strong> – Held the first Saturday of June each year, Flying High is an evening celebrating artists and the works of art of the region.<\/p>\n

Flying High is Customs House Museum’s preeminent fundraiser of the year, supporting educational and exhibit programming of the Museum.This year’s 29th annual Flying High gala will be held on June 2nd at the Clarksville Country Club, 334 Fairway Drive, Clarksville, Tennessee 37043. Museum Guild members Kimberly Silvus and Betsy Armistead serve as event Chair and Co-Chair.<\/p>\n

Dinner and dancing follow a silent and live auction featuring art, travel packages, and products and services from the Clarksville region. This year’s signature artist is Dan Hanley. His piece “Front Street Sundown” is a painting with original polymer and oil accents. It will be up for bid at the live auction. The glowing view of the \u201ctattered grace\u201d of the Front Street neighborhood in downtown Clarksville is a tribute to the quietly heroic people, including the artist\u2019s parents, who made up the Front Street community.<\/p>\n

New to the silent auction this year is a Mystery Item auction, where bidders take a chance on winning an unknown item. Live entertainment will be provided by the band Familiar Faces.<\/p>\n

Tickets to this event are $125.00 for Museum members, and $175.00 for non-members. To purchase ticket(s), please contact Linda Maki at 931.648.5780. The Museum will be closed Saturday, June 2nd and Sunday, June 3rd for the event.<\/p>\n

About the Customs House Museum<\/h3>\n

Located in the heart of historic downtown Clarksville, Tennessee, the Customs House Museum and Cultural Center is the State\u2019s second largest general museum. With over 35,000 square feet of the region\u2019s best hands-on activities and special events\u2026people of all ages agree \u2013 the Customs House Museum is well worth the stop!<\/p>\n

The Explorer\u2019s Gallery is packed with fun, learning and fantasy in Aunt Alice\u2019s Attic, McGregor\u2019s Market and kitchen, and of course \u2013 the Bubble Cave! Finally, get \u201call aboard\u201d to see our fantastic model trains. Our volunteer engineers \u201cride the rails\u201d every Sunday afternoon from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.<\/p>\n

Regular museum hours are 10:00am to 5:00pm Tuesday through Saturday, and 1:00pm to 5:00pm on Sundays. Adult admission is $7.00, Sr. Citizens and College ID $5.00, Ages 6 to 18 $3.00, and under six years and Museum members are free.<\/p>\n
