The park will reopen at dawn the following day.<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" title=\"Clarksville Parks and Recreation\" src=\"http:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/06\/parksandrec1-200x66.jpg\" alt=\"Clarksville Parks and Recreation\" width=\"200\" height=\"66\" \/><strong>Clarksville, TN<\/strong> \u2013 The weekly Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department Recreation Report provides Clarksvillians with a glimpse at the activities and events that are available from the Parks and Recreation Department for them to enjoy together as a family.<\/p>\n<p>This weeks highlights include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Queen City Road Race Packet Pick Up<\/li>\n<li>Registration for the 50+ Olympics is Underway<\/li>\n<li>Doggiepalooza 2012<\/li>\n<li>Movies in the Park<\/li>\n<li>Sleep Under the Stars<\/li>\n<li>Youth Archery<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h3>Queen City Road Race Packet Pick Up<\/h3>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/QCRR-Poster-2012sm.gif\"  class=\"thickbox no_icon\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" title=\"34th Annual Queen City Road Race\" src=\"http:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/QCRR-Poster-2012sm-129x200.gif\" alt=\"34th Annual Queen City Road Race\" width=\"129\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a>Race packets will be available to pick up at the Parks &amp; Recreation main office May 3rd and 4th from 9:00am to 5:30pm.<\/p>\n<p>Registrants can also pick up race packets on race day beginning at 11:00am.<\/p>\n<p>Registration is still underway, visit recpro.cityofclarksville.com to register today.<\/p>\n<h3>Registration for the 50+ Olympics is Underway<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" title=\"Olympic\" src=\"http:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/Olympic.jpg\" alt=\"Olympic\" width=\"162\" height=\"137\" \/>Senior adults ages 50 and up can register now thru April 30 to qualify for the Early Bird rate of only $18.00! Registration ends May 4th. Register at the Parks and Recreation office or at any of our three Community Centers. This year\u2019s events will take place May 8th-12th at various locations around Clarksville.<\/p>\n<p>Seniors will face off for bragging rights, as well as medals in over 20 challenging events. Opening session will be held at the Pinnacle Bowling Alley, beginning at 11:00am, Friday, May 4th. Due to these events, parts of Swan Lake Park will be closed to the public, May 9th and parts of Barbara Johnson Park will be closed May 12th.<\/p>\n<h3>Doggiepalooza 2012<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-36446\" title=\"Doggie Palooza\" src=\"http:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/DoggiePalooza-200x56.png\" alt=\"Doggie Palooza\" width=\"200\" height=\"56\" \/>The 6th Annual Doggiepalooza will take place May 5th from 1:00pm to 4:00pm, at the Heritage Park Bark Park. Bring your 4-legged family members for a day full of demonstrations, contests, prizes and much more!<\/p>\n<p>[320center]<\/p>\n<h3>Movies in the Park<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-76166\" title=\"Movies in the Park\" src=\"http:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/Movies-in-the-Park-200x132.jpg\" alt=\"Movies in the Park\" width=\"200\" height=\"132\" \/>This year\u2019s schedule has just been announced, visit parksafterdark.com for a full movie schedule. Join us for the kick off of Movies in the Park on Saturday, May 5th, at Heritage Park soccer fields for the viewing of \u201cHugo\u201d. Come early to save your spot and check out \u201cmove before the movies\u201d before the movie begins at dusk.<\/p>\n<p>Be sure to bring your picnic blankets and lawn chairs. Concessions also will be available. Admission to the movie is free.<\/p>\n<h3>Sleep Under the Stars<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft  wp-image-40345\" title=\"Sleep under the Stars\" src=\"http:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/sleepunderthestars-149x200.jpg\" alt=\"Sleep under the Stars\" width=\"119\" height=\"160\" \/>Join us for a bonfire, archery, games, ghost stories and much more at our great Family Camp Out, beginning Saturday May 19th, at 2:00pm until Sunday, May 20th, at 9:00am at Billy Dunlop Park. The cost is $5.00 per person or $20.00 for a family up to 6 members. This family adventure will include an afternoon and evening full of festivities to include a hot dog dinner and breakfast the next morning.<\/p>\n<p>Families will need to provide their own tent and sleeping materials.
