In order to complete the project, a forty-percent match from local funds is required. Fundraising efforts by the City will continue, with some help already.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_91194\" style=\"width: 490px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/smithtrahern.jpg\"  class=\"thickbox no_icon\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-91194\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-91194\" title=\"Smith-Trahern Mansion\" src=\"http:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/smithtrahern-480x319.jpg\" alt=\"Smith-Trahern Mansion\" width=\"480\" height=\"319\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-91194\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Smith-Trahern Mansion<\/p><\/div>\n<p><!--more-->The National Trust for Historic Preservation awarded the City $2,500 and the Family and Community Educators (FCE) donated $5,000, all of which will be used towards this match.<\/p>\n<p>Fundraising efforts by the City will continue through the sale of watercolor prints and note cards by artist Lynne Waters Griffey, featuring the Mansion. They can be purchased at the Fort Defiance Interpretive Center and the Clarksville Parks &amp; Recreation office.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Smith-Trahern Mansion is a vitally important part of Clarksville\u2019s history and culture,\u201d said Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Mansion is on the National Register of Historic Places and is a host to events and visitors throughout the year.
