Art Teacher Grace McDonnell encouraged her to attend an art class after seeing some of her creative classroom work.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_114619\" style=\"width: 490px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/LUCILLE-RICHARDSON.jpg\"  class=\"thickbox no_icon\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-114619\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-114619\" title=\"Planters Bank, Hilldale branch, April First Thursday Art Exhibit features paintings by Lucille Richardson.\" src=\"http:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/LUCILLE-RICHARDSON-480x376.jpg\" alt=\"Planters Bank, Hilldale branch, April First Thursday Art Exhibit features paintings by Lucille Richardson.\" width=\"480\" height=\"376\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-114619\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Planters Bank, Hilldale branch, April First Thursday Art Exhibit features paintings by Lucille Richardson.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><!--more-->\u201cI didn\u2019t know anything about art,\u201d she says. \u201cBut, I took the class and was surprised at what I had done,\u201d says Richardson.<\/p>\n<p>She painted for a few years, then set her hobby aside when both her work and her role in supporting her husband\u2019s work \u2013 Baptist Minister L.G. Richardson \u2013 took priority. After 58 years of marriage, \u201cBro. Rich,\u201d as he was affectionately known, passed away in 2008 and Richardson returned again to her love of painting.<\/p>\n<p>Her exhibit at Planters will showcase two themes. Seven pieces include Cunningham icons from the early 1800-1900\u2019s, including the Morgan Grocery, the Boogersville Caf\u00e9, Lone Oak Elementary School, and the Dawson Homeplace. Five other pieces are water scenes, including two lighthouses from the Great Lakes and a Kentucky Lake scene.
