\"AltrusaClarksville, TN<\/strong> – The orchestra is tuning up, the dance shoes are nervously tapping backstage and the excitement is building for Saturday night\u2019s Fourth Annual Dancing with the Stars presented by Altrusa International of Clarksville. This annual fundraiser brings together local celebrities and dancing professionals for an evening of stellar entertainment.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s celebrities include: Cassandra Osborne from CEMC, Jameson Griffis with Merrill Lynch, Felicia Long from Keller Williams Realty, Kay Sites of Sites & Sutton Marketing, Scott Jensen with Planters Bank and Kayla Goad LeVan from Byers & Harvey, Inc.<\/p>\n

Practice began months ago with local instructors Patricia Lefler and Tiffany Stahl from the Clarksville Dance Club. Participants then began rigorous one-on-one rehearsals with their individual professional partners from Dance World Nashville. The pros are a mix of the finest instructors and national competitors in ballroom dance. This year\u2019s lineup features Jonathan Bungard, Jennifer Kirksmith, Danny Pugh, Christopher Wayne, Annemarie Fournia, and Matt Stewart.<\/p>\n

Months of preparation will come together Saturday night, February 18th at the APSU Mass Communications Building. The evening will be filled with fun and intense competition all with the goal of raising money for Altrusa International of Clarksville\u2019s scholarship program for non-traditional students. Saturday night twelve recipients will be awarded scholarships totaling $8000.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately for one of the contestants the competition is over before the big night on stage. Kay Sites took a tumble a few weeks ago and what was initially diagnosed as a bad sprain was actually two broken bones. \u201cI am really disappointed. I was practicing so hard and having so much fun\u201d, she explains. \u201cThe audience will be impressed at the level of skill of all the dancers.\u201d<\/p>\n
