APSU’s Zone 3 Press, Goldsmith Press launch poetry competition

Clarksville, TN – Zone 3 Press in collaboration with the Austin Peay State University (APSU) Art + Design department is launching an annual poetry competition, and the winning poem will be featured on a broadside poster printed on the University’s letterpress.
AHDC honors four Clarksvillians for their work in advancing arts, heritage in our community

Clarksville, TN – Four Clarksvillians were recently honored by the Clarksville/Montgomery County Arts and Heritage Development Council for their achievements in art and in preserving our heritage.
Cindy Marsh, professor emerita of art at Austin Peay State University, and graphic designer Mike Fink received the Lifetime Achievement in Art award, and local historians Rosalind Kurita and Carolyn Stier Ferrell received the Lifetime Achievement in Heritage award.

Clarksville, TN – In a unique collaboration between Austin Peay State University students, members of the APSU Social and Political Narrative and Sociology Senior Capstone courses are exploring what it really costs to attend college.
Dubbed “At What Cost? — The Reality of a College Education,” the project represents the work between two groups of highly talented students exploring the high price of an education, and the price people pay financially, emotionally and physically. [Read more]
Visual art and creative writing collide at new APSU exhibit at Framemaker Gallery

APSU students curate exhibit of Cindy Marsh work

Clarksville, TN – During Cynthia Marsh’s long and distinguished art career, she has designed and developed album covers for the Supremes and Elvis, traveled to Africa to study different techniques in papermaking and helped hundreds of Tennesseans express themselves with the help of an old letterpress.

Austin Peay State University Provost Lecture Series to feature art professor’s residency in Tanzania

Clarksville, TN – An Austin Peay State University art professor will discuss her three-week residency in Tanzania as part of the next Provost Lecture Series session at APSU.
Cynthia Marsh, professor of art, will speak at 3:00pm, Thursday, February 16th in the Morgan University Center, Room 303. The event is free and open to the public.
