City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville launched a fresh, easy-to-navigate and more powerful website Monday morning that will enhance the City’s ability to engage and serve its citizens.

“The new website is visually clean and crisp, and makes striking use of colorful, attractive views of the City,” Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts said. “More importantly, it gives us a giant leap forward in technology that will allow citizens to interact with City Government in new and more efficient ways.”

The new website offers these key features:

For example, a resident can access the “Citizen Request Tracker” to report a pothole to the Street Department, or report a suspected property violation to the Building & Codes Department. Similarly, a citizen can use the “Notify Me” function to register for notifications when news or a meeting agenda is released, or when a bidding request is posted for a City contract.

The site also incorporates a new Road Closure Map developed by the Austin Peay State University GIS Center. The continuously updated interactive map shows location information for road closures caused by crashes, construction, paving, high water and other factors.

Clarksville’s new-look web project is the first major upgrade of the City’s website since 2012. The vendor is CivicPlus, an integrated technology platform that specializes in products for local governments, and serves more than 3,500 municipalities, counties, and municipal departments.

In January, Clarksville Parks and Recreation began its conversion to the new platform, installing CivicRec, the CivicPlus’s event and program registration application.

The City website address will remain www.cityofclarksville.com [2] and existing bookmarks will convert to the new site automatically.
