City of Clarksville to celebrate Arbor Day on April 5th

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville will celebrate Arbor Day by planting two poplar trees at 11:00am on Friday, April 5th, 2019 at Barksdale Elementary School, 1920 Madison Street.

The trees to be planted have been donated by the Clarksville Tree Board.

Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts will be in attendance and issue an Arbor Day proclamation.

David Arnold, State Forester and Assistant Commissioner for the Tennessee Department of Agriculture, and Mark Graveel, Area Forester at Tennessee Division of Forestry will present the Awards.

The Clarksville Tree Board will also be in attendance to present awards to the recipients of the Big Tree Contest.
