Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library to offer Beginning Genealogy Class September 26th

Clarksville-Montgomery County Public LibraryClarksville, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library’s Reference and Genealogy Department will be offering a basic genealogy class beginning Thursday, September 26th at 3:00pm.

Many people attempt to begin their genealogy research journey by first going to the internet, or by using the library’s Ancestry.com online resource.This beginning genealogy class explores not only what can be found using internet resources, but what cannot be found.

The class will cover the basics, such as what forms are used in genealogy, research tips, what specific information the genealogy researcher needs, where the information can be found, and what to do with the information once it is found.

The class will also show what type of information can be discovered in specific types of records, such as death certificates, deeds, wills, and census records. The class will meet every Thursday afternoon from 3:00-4:30pm. All classes are free of charge and open to the public.
