Clarksville’s Welcome Home Veterans Parade honors those that served

Clarksville, TN – Hundreds gathered around the streets of Downtown Clarksville Saturday for the 7th Annual Welcome Home Veterans Parade. The parade is part of the Welcome Home Veterans Celebration. Veterans from all around attended and took part in the parade.
The parade began at 10:00am.
“I am so glad to see so many people come out to the Welcome Home Veterans Parade to honor our veterans today. We have a lot of units this year,” said Theresa Harrington, Executive Director of Visit Clarksville. “We are just glad our veterans are home and we like to welcome them to Clarksville.”
APSU hosts area high schools for JROTC Raider Challenge competition, Saturday

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) Governors Guard ROTC cadets this weekend will host about 90 cadets from high schools from throughout the area in the Raider Challenge competition. The competition is this Saturday, September 21st, 2019 from 7:00am until 4:00pm at the APSU Clarksville campus.

Clarksville Riverfest’s Juried Art Show was held Thursday night

Clarksville, TN – Hundreds came out for the annual Riverfest Juried Art Show at Wilma Rudolph Event Center Thursday night, the official beginning of Clarksville’s Riverfest 2018, one of Clarksville’s most anticipated events.
Artists of all ages, working in many mediums, were invited to submit their work. Multiple categories allowed for a wide variety of creative expression, and at 6:15pm, this year’s awards winners were announced.
Celebrating Christmas in the Downtown Commons

Montgomery County, TN – This Saturday, December 2nd, 2017 there will be multiple activities taking place in the Downtown Commons and throughout downtown to celebrate the Christmas Season. SpiritFest begins at the Downtown Commons at 2:00pm, kicking off with Northeast High School Show Choir, Starlight Grande performance, Infinity Dance Fitness Academy, Clarksville Academy, and Rossview Singing Hawks.
At 3:30pm, the Montgomery Central Elementary School Choir will perform followed by greetings from Montgomery County Mayor Jim Durrett at 3:45pm.
U.S. Army launches JROTC Robotics Program at Kenwood High School

Clarksville, TN – On Wednesday, October 26th, 2017 the U.S. Army launched its JROTC Robotics Program at Kenwood High School. Four CMCSS high school robotics programs will be in place: Kenwood High School, Northeast High School, West Creek High School, with Rossview High School and Northwest High School combined.
