Clarksville, TN – The United States Colored Troops Living History Association’s annual national meeting will be October 19th-21st in Clarksville, TN at Riverview Inn, 50 College Street.
The United States Colored Troops Living History Association is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to promote and accurately interpret the history of the United States Colored Troops of the American Civil War and those that supported their efforts to abolish slavery and preserve the Union and to educate the public and promote research of the history and legacy of those who served in the Civil War. Clarksville’s Civil War Roundtable presents Ed Bearss at the Customs House Museum July 18th

Clarksville, TN – On Wednesday, July 18th, Clarksville’s Civil War Roundtable group will host a fundraiser at the Customs House Museum. The event will feature retired Chief Historian of the National Park Service, Ed Bearss, who will be presenting a lecture in the Museum’s Turner Auditorium at 7:00pm.
Ed is a combat wounded U.S. Marine who joined the National Park Service in the 1950s. Starting out at Vicksburg National Military Park as its historian, he rose to be the Chief Historian of the National Park Service and is retired from there as Chief Historian Emeritus. Ed is the most popular speaker on the Civil War lecture circuit today and is world renowned as a battlefield guide. [Read more]
