Both works of choreography submitted for blind adjudication were selected for inclusion in the culminating gala performance.

Clarksville, TN – Alisha Jerles Horn (’09, ’12) never knew her grandfather, but sometimes, while walking across campus, she pictures him as a tall college student, dressed in an old-fashioned basketball uniform. William Grayford Nutt arrived at Austin Peay in 1937 as a 19-year-old athlete, and sometimes Horn imagines him waving at a pretty, young woman.
Austin Peay State University’s Amanda Walker appointed to Tennessee Regional Planning Commission

Clarksville, TN – Amanda Walker, director of career services at Austin Peay State University, was recently appointed to the State of Tennessee Regional Planning Commission for the Clarksville-Montgomery County Region.
Walker was nominated by Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan and was confirmed by the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development Office.
APSU’s Phi Alpha Theta wins eighth Best Chapter Award

Clarksville, TN – While much of America focused on each word said during the recent first presidential debate, something else was gnawing at the back of the mind of Austin Peay State University professor of history, Dr. Minoa Uffelman.
For the last seven years, the University’s Phi Alpha Theta National Honor Society (PAT), which Uffelman advises, has been recognized each fall with the national Best Chapter Award, but September was drawing to a close without word on a possible eighth consecutive award.
Award-winning poet Nezhukumatathil to give reading at Austin Peay State University on September 15th

The event, sponsored by Zone 3 Press and the APSU Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts, is free and open to the public.
New exhibit at APSU provides social commentary on southern landscape and lifestyle

Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University Trahern Gallery, with support from the APSU Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts and the APSU Department of Art and Design, is pleased to present “Southlandia”, a body of work by nationally recognized printmaker Andrew Blanchard.
The exhibit opens February 22nd at the gallery and runs through March 18th.
The All State, APSU’s student newspaper, takes home state, AP awards

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s student newspaper, The All State, was recently honored for its excellence on both the regional and state levels.
The All State earned a No. 4 in the South ranking on February 27th at the annual Southeast Journalism Conference (SEJC), held February 27th-28th at Georgia State University in Atlanta.
APSU is joined by 26 tenure-track faculty

Clarksville, TN – A total of 26 new tenure-track faculty members have become part of the Austin Peay State University community, beginning with the Fall 2014 semester.
Dr. Kadi Bliss, assistant professor of health and human performance, earned her Ph.D. in health education from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. She is a Certified Health Education Specialist and a member of the American Association of Health Education and the Society of Public Health Education. [Read more]
APSU graduated 1,132 Students Friday, May 9th

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University on Friday celebrated the graduation of 1,132 students from its six component schools. Since 2008 the University has held two separate graduation ceremonies in order to accommodate its growing student body.
Family and friends of the graduates gathered on hand to witness the ceremonies and to celebrate what is likely to be one of the proudest moments in the life of their APSU student.
