City of Clarksville staff joins United Way drive

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – City of Clarksville employees competed Tuesday in the 2nd Annual United Way Field Day event to kick-off the annual workplace giving campaign.

Twelve six-member teams from across the City of Clarksville gathered at the Wilma Rudolph Events Center compete in nine “minute-to-win-it” games, including Ping Pong Shake, Elephant March and Balloon Pop. Team names were equally creative, including Blue Light Special, Killa Watts, Perfectly Balanced and Codes Crusaders.

The project is a partnership between the City of Clarksville and the United Way of the Greater Clarksville Region.

Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan, United Way to dedicate trail June 21st

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan will help celebrate United Way Worldwide’s Day of Action at Liberty Park with the grand opening of the Born Learning Trail, an interactive set of activities for young children and their caregivers.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be at 2:00pm June 21st, 2017. Prior to the ceremony, from 8:00am to noon, 35 local United Way volunteers will help install the trail at Liberty Park.

A Born Learning Trail like this one will be installed at Liberty Park. The program was created by United Way Worldwide to promote activity and early learning opportunities for young children.
