Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s Kayla Malley earns Maynard Glenn Award

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – The Tennessee Recreation and Parks Association (TRPA) acknowledged the outstanding achievements of individuals, communities and organizations during the association’s 68th Annual Conference in Chattanooga last week.

The Maynard Glenn Award was presented to Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s Kayla Malley for her coordination of the Mayor’s Summer Night Lights program. The award, given annually by TRPA’s Municipal/County Section, is presented to personnel who planned and conducted the most outstanding non-community center recreation program during the past year.

Montgomery County Parks and Recreation earns state award for RichEllen Park

Montgomery County Government TennesseeMontgomery County, TN – The Montgomery County Parks and Recreation Department was recently awarded the Four Star Award for Excellence in Parks and Recreation for RichEllen Park.

The award was presented during the annual Tennessee Recreation and Parks Association state conference, held earlier this week in Memphis, TN.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation wins Award for Fort Defiance Civil War Park and Interpretive Center

Tennessee Recreation and Parks AssociationFranklin, TN – The Tennessee Recreation and Parks Association (TRPA) announces the recipients of the association’s 2011 Awards Program. The outstanding achievements of these individuals, communities and organizations were acknowledged during the association’s 60th Annual Conference at Paris Landing State Park on October 5th, 2011.

The Distinguished Young Professional Award was presented to Jennifer Rich Gentry of Morristown for her outstanding service to the Parks and Recreation profession and her community. Gentry is a Programmer for Morristown Parks and Recreation and coordinates a variety of Morristown’s events and programs including Scare Crows in the Park, Olympic Day, Christmas in the City, PATH (Parks Add to Health) fitness program, and Celebration of Cultures Festival.
