Fortera Credit Union creates Fortera Foundation to Combat Generational Poverty

Clarksville, TN – Fortera Credit Union has announced its establishment of the Fortera Foundation. The not-for-profit organization aims to help break the cycle of generational poverty and improve families’ long-term financial stability.
“Fulfilling our purpose to be a force for financial good, it was important to Fortera that we establish an entity dedicated solely to supporting our community impact initiatives,” said Tom Kane, Fortera Credit Union President and CEO. The Fortera Foundation aligns our core values, resources and commitment to make meaningful investments in the communities we serve,” said Kane.
Fortera Credit Union creates Cleveland “Mario” Richardson Memorial Endowment for Austin Peay finance students

Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University Foundation (APSU) recently received a contribution from the Fortera Credit Union to establish the Cleveland “Mario” Richardson Memorial Endowment in memory of APSU alumnus Cleveland “Mario” Richardson (’10).
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must be enrolled full-time with a major in finance. The award is renewable for recipients who continue to meet the criteria each year.

Clarksville, TN – The 2018 Toyota East West All-Star Classic will be held in Clarksville, Tennessee at Austin Peay State University’s Fortera Stadium on Friday, December 7th, 2018 for the second year.
The All-Star Classic is organized by the Tennessee Athletic Coaches Association (TACA) and is made up of the state’s top 88 senior football players who are selected from more than 400 nominations.

Armed with tents, coolers and plenty of water, family members will cheer runners along the two-mile course beside the Hilldale Baptist Church Family Life Center, 250 Old Farmers Road.

Kane is president and CEO or Fortera Credit Union, a position he has held for six years. Kane is originally from Wisconsin, but has worked in financial services in numerous locations across the country for 25 years. He also served as chairman of the Aspire Clarksville Foundation in 2016-17.
