Austin Peay State University Art + Design and CECA celebrate Acuff class with new exhibit

Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University Department of Art + Design and the APSU Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts celebrate this year’s Acuff Chair of Excellence, Sonya Clark, with an exhibition of work created by students in the course, Measuring Histories.
The exhibition will be in The New Gallery for a one-day only event, opening on May 2nd, 2018 from 9:00am–5:00pm. The exhibit will reopen with a free public reception from 7:00pm-9:00pm, where Sonya Clark and student artists will be present.

Riverfest kicked off Thursday with annual Art Experience

Clarksville, TN – Riverfest 2017 kicked off Thursday night, September 7th, 2017 with its annual Art Experience, a juried art competition open to people of all ages and experience levels.
Kara Zahn is Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s event planning specialist and Art Experience coordinator. “This event was formerly known as Tour D’Art,” Zahn said. “For the last three years the different elements have all been combined to create a single event which has been held at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center.”
About 180 people attended Thursday’s Riverfest Art Experience, kicking off a weekend of art, music and culture.
